Job Description Summary
The Systems Analyst II is responsible for installing, configuring, monitoring, and maintaining multiple server, data storage, data backup, and datacenter network systems in support of the SAMC’s complex IT infrastructure. Additionally, the Systems Analyst II is responsible for the installation and management multiple infrastructure support and monitoring applications, as assigned.
Job Description
QUALIFICATIONS:
High School graduate or equivalent (required). 4-6 years’ experience in the Information Technology field (required). One or more industry standard technical certifications; MCSE, MCITP, VCP, CCNA, CCNP, or Network+ (required). Minimum of 4 years’ experience managing multiple server and data storage systems (SAN, NAS, etc) (required). Intermediate to advanced knowledge of MS Windows Server operating systems (required). Intermediate to advanced knowledge of VMware Virtualization technology (required). Intermediate knowledge of TCP/IP networking in a multi-VLAN environment (required). Experience with network and systems security processes and technology (preferred). Experience with datacenter power and cooling systems (preferred). Exceptional customer service skills (REQUIRED).

SKILLS/JOB DUTIES (General Network Analyst):
Configures, installs, and maintains various server hardware and software systems. This includes but is not limited physical servers, blade servers, virtual servers, and virtualization hypervisors. Configures, installs, and maintains various server operating systems using approved procedures. Configures, installs, and maintains datacenter networking systems to ensure reliable connectivity to assigned systems. Configures, installs, and maintains server and system monitoring and management systems. Ensures that all assigned systems are accurately monitored for availability of all relevant resources (CPU, memory, network, hardware health, services, applications, and disk space). Configures, installs, maintains, and monitors datacenter environmental monitoring systems. Designs, configures, maintains, and supervises installation of datacenter & infrastructure cabling. Designs, implements, and manages multiple enterprise data backup systems. Fully supports and documents these critical data backup systems to ensure 100% data availability and disaster/data loss preparedness. Fully maintains an accurate inventory of assigned servers, systems, and devices. Maintains appropriate physical and logical security for servers, systems, and cabling, in accordance with HIPAA guidelines. Maintains proper documentation for all assigned hardware and systems. All documentation must be stored logically where it is readily accessible to the rest of the workgroup and IT leadership. Documentation should also be consistent with currently effective guidelines. Utilizes the IT Service Desk software to ensure end user and/or infrastructure generated incidents (requests) are logged, dispatched, escalated, and resolved efficiently to minimize user and system downtime. Maintains accurate service request records for reporting purposes. Assists with the preparation of capital and operating budgets related to the operation and maintenance of assigned hardware and systems. Follows established guidelines for system change control. Implements approved changes based on priority and updates relevant documentation, when applicable. Supports the IT department and other hospital departments during system upgrades and go-live events. Serves as a named resource to IT staff in support of various projects and applications. Provides technical support to IT staff and end-users for all server and IT infrastructure related issues. Regularly identifies improvements and enhancements to assigned systems. Also maintains an annual strategic plan for each assigned system to ensure continuous optimizations and improvements. Maintains assigned hardware and systems to current suitable versions and plans, recommends, and implements upgrades as necessary. Understands and applies LEAN principles and methodologies to assigned systems and regular workflow. Regularly communicates project status with workgroup and IT leadership. Provides formal status reports on a weekly basis to supervisor through Information Systems Project Management Software. Performs other job-related duties and functions as directed by IT management. Takes departmental after hours call, when scheduled. Works outside normal business hours to complete projects or resolve problems, when required. Very limited job-related overnight travel.
