Period of Work: May-August 2025 Full-Time: 40 hours a week Location: Colorado Springs, Colorado In Office Requirement: 5 days a week onsite The NORAD & USNORTHCOM, USSPACECOM Operations department provides multidisciplinary systems and operational engineering for North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD), and United States Northern Command (USNORTHCOM), and Headquarters United States Space Command (USSPACECOM). The department is a vibrant element of the N250 Joint Staff (JS) and Combatant Command (CCMD) Division, emphasizes collaboration and sponsor mission orientation. Several MITRE corporate initiatives have roots or leadership in this department: Homeland Defense, thought leadership for Space as a Warfighting Domain, resiliency analysis for critical infrastructure, and lead for MITRE's Arctic Experimentation efforts. As an Intern working in systems engineering for this department, you will work as part of a team of interns and early career staff. You will apply your knowledge and gain experience with one or more of the following: + Digital and model-based engineering + Mission and system of systems engineering + AI-enabled systems engineering + Agile systems engineering + Systems security engineering + Mechanical engineering, structural analysis, thermal dynamics + Aerospace engineering Basic Qualifications + Must be a student enrolled full-time pursuing an accredited degree seeking program in Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or a related degree program.
