HOW A SYSTEMS ARCHITECT WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:

Interface with design and implementation engineers to resolve problems in accordance with the fundamental design concepts, and user needs and constraintsAdvise on selection of technology, protocols, procedures and tools to meet the mission needsDevelop system architectures and perform technical/non-technical assessment and management as well as end-to-end flow analysis of systemsDevelop scenarios (threads) and an Operational Concept that describes the interactions between the system, the user, and the environment, that satisfies operational, support, maintenance, andConducts design tradeoff analysis and develops strategies for system development and modificationReview and/or approve system engineering documentation to ensure that processes and specifications meet system needs and are accurate, comprehensive, and completeConduct quantitative analysis in non-functional system performance areas like Reliability, Maintainability, Vulnerability, Survivability, Producibility, etc.)Capture all interface designs in a common interface control format, and store interface data in a commonly accessible repositoryAssess risks to the program and determine the probability of occurrence and quantified consequence of failureProvide technical analysis/trade-off analysis for the development, engineering, interfacing, integration, and testing of specific components of complex hardware/software systems

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, mathematics or science

Required Experience:

Fifteen years (15) years’ experience

Security Clearance Level:

Must be clearable for a position of Public Trust and standard background investigation checkUS Residency Requirement

Required Technical Skills:

Experience analyzing complex business processes, rules and constraintsExperience developing and recommending viable approaches to efficiently meet requirementsSignificant experience with large-scale data architecture, data modeling, database design, and data systems implementationExperience with load balancing, distributed computing, and cloud architecturesSolid understanding of network and system development and deploymentExtensive experience with performing engineering and/or scientific research, studies, and analyses of specified technological, scientific, programmatic and operational issues

Required Skills and Abilities:

Ability to communicate efficiently and effectivelyDemonstrate strength in solving complex problems
