Systems & Calibration Technician
+ Works to improve existing laboratory tests and processes by identifying and applying new laboratory instrumentation, automation and test fixtures. + Operates designated laboratory equipment and tools as directed. + Responds to user requests to repair and/or modify existing laboratory instrumentation, automated systems and test fixtures. + As applicable, records observed or calculated data on appropriate UL forms as the record of laboratory support activities. + May plan laboratory support activities, and evaluate results, as directed. + Builds, installs, tests and validates new instrumentation, automated systems and test fixtures for laboratory tests and processes to ensure they meet technical and user requirements. + Ensures both new and existing test systems meet safety requirements and compliance with the local laws. + Updates and maintains automation hardware and/or software as needed. + Prepares technical documentation such as manual instructions for hardware and software, calibration procedures, test method validations, etc. + Advises and trains others on the use of laboratory instrumentation, automated systems and test fixtures. + Assists in developing annual budgetary goals, capital expenditure budget for laboratory equipment, and tactical plans for the assigned laboratory section. + Proactively seeks automation opportunities to resolve complex testing issues. + Ensures customer convenient solutions meet both customer and company needs. + Defines the engineering units, ranges, and/or acceptance criteria of instruments to be externally calibrated based on manufacturers equipment specifications, standard requirements and/or accreditations. + Checks, verifies and accepts calibration certificates from external calibration service provider(s). + Operates a computer to extract/input readily available information and to use available software. + Integrates continuous improvement concepts and techniques into all aspects of the job. + Read and follow the UL Standards of Business Conduct and follow all physical and digital security practices. + Performs other duties as directed. Ihre Aufgaben: + Bearbeitung von Benutzeranfragen zur Reparatur und/oder Modifikation bestehender Laborinstrumente, automatisierter Systeme und Testvorrichtungen. + Durchführung von In-Haus Kalibrierung technischer Geräte an unseren Standorten Krefeld und Neu Isenburg. + Sicherstellung, dass neue und bestehende Testsysteme den Sicherheitsanforderungen entsprechen. + Erstellung technischer Dokumentationen wie, Kalibrierverfahren, Kalibrierzertifikate. + Proaktive Suche nach Automatisierungsmöglichkeiten zur Lösung komplexer Testprobleme. + Sicherstellung, dass kundenfreundliche Lösungen sowohl den Kunden- als auch den Unternehmensanforderungen entsprechen. + Überprüfung und Annahme von Kalibrierzertifikaten externer Kalibrierdienstleister. + Integration von Konzepten und Techniken zur kontinuierlichen Verbesserung in alle Aspekte der Arbeit. + Ausführung weiterer Aufgaben nach Anweisung. + Unterstützung des Labors während Audits. + Ansprechpartner für interne und externe Audits. + 2 years of formal education with associate degree or certification as a technician through acknowledged organization. + Generally, experience in the calibration and/or development and support of laboratory instrumentation, automation tools and processes due to ISO17025. + Ensures customer convenient solutions meet both customer and company needs. + Demonstrates ability to proactively adapt actions through preparation and contingency plans. + Communicates effectively in written and oral form. + Follows instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. + Demonstrates a good knowledge of equipment used within the conformity assessment industry. + Demonstrated ability to adapt to rapidly changing priorities. + Develops and delivers clear, impactful, actionable communications to all stakeholders. + Is a highly trusted, direct, and truthful individual. + Knowledge of the most common laboratory test equipment and the principles of measurement uncertainty. + Ability to read and interpret documents such as operations, maintenance and procedure manuals. + Ability to compose routine reports and business correspondence. + Ability to present standard information and respond to questions from individuals or small groups of internal or external clients. + Willingness for continuous training and improvement. Ihr Profil: + Abgeschlossene technische Ausbildung oder vergleichbare Qualifikation. + Erfahrung im Bereich Kalibrierung und Laborarbeit gemäß der ISO17025. + Kenntnisse in der Bedienung und Wartung von Laborinstrumenten und automatisierten Systemen. + Fähigkeit zur Erstellung technischer Dokumentationen. + Proaktive und lösungsorientierte Arbeitsweise. + Ist eine äußerst vertrauenswürdige, direkte und ehrliche Person. + Kenntnis der gängigsten Labortestgeräte und der Grundsätze der Messunsicherheit. + Fähigkeit, Dokumente wie Betriebs-, Wartungs- und Verfahrenshandbücher zu lesen und zu interpretieren. + Fähigkeit zum Verfassen von Routineberichten und Geschäftskorrespondenz. + Fähigkeit, Standardinformationen zu präsentieren und Fragen von Einzelpersonen oder kleinen Gruppen von internen oder externen Kunden zu beantworten. + EDV-Kenntnisse sind vorausgesetzt. + Gute Kommunikationsfähigkeiten auf Deutsch und Englisch sowie Teamfähigkeit. + Bereitschaft zur kontinuierlichen Weiterbildung und Verbesserung.
