Facilities Management (FM) is currently seeking a Systems Control Center (SCC) Evening Shift Operator. The SCC is a 24/7 operation responsible for monitoring and ensuring the integrity and effectiveness of Building Automation (BAS), fire and life safety, heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC,) energy management and other critical mission systems across Grounds to include UVA Health. Operators are responsible for notifying appropriate internal and external responders using effective communication skills across multiple platforms. They are empowered to use critical decision-making skills for a wide range of emergent and non-emergent situations. Operators receive, prioritize, and facilitate resolution for both customer facing and organizational requests for services. They will also consult with peers, senior operators, supervisors, and the Systems Control Manager for particularly complex operational issues.
Applicants must have the ability to work the scheduled hours of 3PM-11PM on rotating days to include a minimum of two weekends per month. This schedule is eligible for shift differential.
Responsibilities:
Work autonomously, however, will inform the supervisor immediately regarding critical situations or problems with emergency systems.
Receive and prioritize work requests and dispatch responders accordingly.
Ensure all issues in the system are addressed immediately.
Maintain reports, logs, records, files, and related documents of shift activities, and ensure that they are current, accurate, legible, and complete.
In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.
Required Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. A minimum of one [1] year of technical experience may be considered in lieu of diploma or equivalent.
A minimum of (2) years of experience analyzing and troubleshooting technical systems. Prior work experience in a customer service orientated environment is essential.
Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills with customers and colleagues is essential.
Preferred Qualifications:
Associate's degree in a technical field.
Ability to read and understand system graphics and block diagrams highly preferred; Proficiency with Microsoft Office highly preferred.
Two [2] years of experience troubleshooting in a technical field and one [1] year of professional experience.
Applicants with experience with Metasys, WebCtrl, or other Building Automation Systems are strongly encouraged to apply.
Compensation:
The Anticipated Hiring Range for this position is $25.00 - $28.00 per hour ($52,000 - $58,240 Annually), commensurate with experience. This is a full-time position with UVA benefits. Employee benefits package highlights include:
