Join Optical Networks division, where innovation meets scale in the AI-driven data center era. With the recent acquisition of Infinera, we’ve united two industry leaders to create an optical networking powerhouse—combining cutting-edge technology with proven leadership to redefine the future of connectivity.

Infinera is now part of the Nokia Corporation and its subsidiaries. When you apply, the information you share will be handled with care and used only for recruitment purposes within the group.

Nokia provides leading DWDM transmission systems. A key component of the optical transport system business infrastructure is a planning tool, which accurately models the physics of optical transmission and optimizes the equipment of a DWDM system to implement customer traffic demands on the given fiber infrastructure with minimum cost.

We are looking for passionate Technical Architects who are domain experts in Optical networking.

Master’s Degree in an engineering discipline (computer science or electrical engineering with focus on fiber optics or optical physics), PhD is a plus Work experience of 4 years minimum on a related field In-depth knowledge of optical communication systems and high capacity coherent DWDM networks mandatory Understanding of linear and nonlinear physical impairments in fiber optical transmission systems. Hands-on experience in planning and optimization of optical DWDM networks. Experience with Nokia’s portfolio is a plus. A strong understanding of network design principles and the ability to translate business requirements into technical architectures. Proven ability to think strategically and analytically. Hands on programming using JAVA, python, MATLAB, or other, e.g. to develop proof of concepts Experience in R&D departments, paired with knowledge in SW development, verification and/or debugging strategies is a plus. Define and specify the planning tool functions based on PLM input and internal and external customer requests. This includes defining use cases, network topologies on which the planning tool operates, user interfaces, m2m interfaces, and planning tool algorithms like optimization algorithms, equipment selection rules etc. Understand the specifics of Nokia line systems and tailor the planning tool functions and algorithms to new revisions of line systems and new line system features. Work with R&D in Agile teams to implement the line system functions and deliver a product to internal and external customers
