We're looking for a new Systems Designer to join our Product Design team at Snap.
What you’ll do:
Work on Snapchat’s central design system, focused on the core Snapchat product but with accessory work on our enterprise and consumer web products.
Work fluidly with our engineering team, often contributing to our codebase and running tests for systems improvements in production.
Be a champion of design excellence at Snap partnering closely with our Product Design team to uplevel the quality of design and implementation in our core product.
Be responsible for evangelizing and driving the adoption of our design systems.
Actively write code to uplevel the components in our system; run frequent A/B tests in production.
Work closely with engineering to deliver new components to our system.
Develop and maintain UI components, patterns, and guidelines for a cohesive user experience.
Create and manage design documentation, including Figma libraries, style guides, and patterns, to help adoption and consistency of usage across Snap.
Perform design audits and reviews to ensure alignment with our system and brand guidelines.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Experience taking design systems from zero to one; you have a proven track record of establishing and driving the adoption of primitives and components.
Track record untangling out-of-date and non-systematic apps and migrating to a design system.
Deep expertise in the craft of design with the ability to flex into roles spanning systems and product work.
Experience writing production code to uplevel design systems and product quality.
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate design decisions and high level strategy to executives clearly.
Minimum Qualifications:
BS/BA degree or equivalent years of experience.
5+ years of experience in a design systems role.
Preferred Qualifications:
A strong portfolio showcasing your design work and demonstrating a high level of composition, typography, layout, and concepting.
Experience developing design frameworks for UI motion.
Experience leading high level product strategy across Engineering and Product.

Compensation
In the United States, work locations are assigned a pay zone which determines the salary range for the position. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. The starting pay may be negotiable within the salary range for the position. These pay zones may be modified in the future.
Zone A (CA, WA, NYC):
The base salary range for this position is $152,000-$228,000 annually.
Zone B:
The base salary range for this position is $144,000-$217,000 annually.Zone C:
The base salary range for this position is $129,000-$194,000 annually.This position is eligible for equity in the form of RSUs.
