Systems Designer Associate R30444

Ensure the smooth flow of operations within the product specialist department by optimizing Domino rules(s) for manufacturing process efficiency and effectiveness.  Focus on configuring option specific configurations using a company specific visual programming tool. Work closely with members of electrical engineering and product management to develop logic that automatically generates bills of material for fire apparatus configuration. Interface with manufacturing and electrical engineering to resolve logic program related issues.

YOUR IMPACT:  

Analyze, modify, and create Boolean based logic within a visual programming tool to drive automatic selections for components, based on custom option content.Ensure that all options for upcoming or in-process orders have mapped outcomes that will generate a complete bill of material on schedule.  Product and bill of material structure knowledge is necessary to be effective.Ensure that all lines in Domino are complete and that an accurate bill of material has been generated for each order.  This requires entering user inputs, designing options, creating gathering numbers, submitting mapping requests, working with order management to clear up incompatible options, and making accurate manual selections.Prepare and maintain electrical system Bills of Material (BOM) based on recognized industry and corporate standards.Work closely with product management to create, interpret, and integrate new electrical options in customer orders.Support manufacturing with direction and electrical documentation during the build process.Prepare engineering change notices (ECN).Work closely with product management to create, interpret, and integrate new electrical options in customer orders.Maintain a working knowledge of JD Edwards Oracle, Pulse, and Microsoft Office Software.Checks own work and that of others.Mentors others in Domino rule creation and maintenance.Works independently with minimal direction.Organizes projects within the Domino group to develop process improvements with rule configurations and automation for Appleton and Florida divisions.Maintain effective communication with internal and external customers, and outside resources concerning technical issues.Perform analysis with problem solving skills and resolve issues reported to engineering via verbal or written communication to support the selection of parts, components, and materials that meet requirements.Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:   

Associate degree or equivalent* with four (4) years of experience in electrical design.

STANDOUT QUALIFICATIONS:  

Associate degree or equivalent* with five (5) years of experience in electrical design.Verbal and written communication skills.Ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment.Detail oriented.Capable of using standard Windows Office tools including SharePoint, email & Teams.Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.

*Note: equivalent equates approximately four (4) years of on the job experience to one (1) year of formal education. External hires are not eligible for the equivalency in place of the required education.
