Position Summary The Electrical Systems Designer I will be responsible for supervised design and documentation of the electrical and controls portion of electro-mechanical positioning systems Essential Functions + Prepares electrical drawings of components and assemblies from notes, verbal instructions, and rough or detailed sketches, using a computer-aided design program + Prepares production documentation of electrical portion of systems, including Bills of Materials and assembly instructions + Makes engineering computations, assists in the documentation of system electrical and controls specifications + Works closely with other departments during all phases of the design and manufacturing process to ensure project success Additional Duties + As assigned  Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities + Basic ability to read and understand electrical writing and controls drawings and schematics + Experience with CAD software (AutoCad preferred) to create and modify electrical wiring, schematic and system interconnect drawings + Strong critical thinking and analytical skills + Problem solving abilities + Basic computer skills, including but not limited to, Microsoft operating systems, MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) + Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing + Basic organizational skills and multitasking abilities in order to meet daily, weekly, monthly and annual deadlines + Self-directed, self-starter + Ability to work as an individual contributor and team player Minimum Qualifications + Associate's Degree or equivalent from an accredited college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training as an Electronic Technician or performing electrical drafting or equivalent combination of education and experience is required + Experience with motion control hardware/software, compliance to electrical and safety standards a plus + Experience in a manufacturing environment a plus + Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered + Must be authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.
