Berkshire Hathaway Automotive is seeking a professional, proactive Systems Developer to join the IT team. The Systems Developer is a blended role responsible for the development, maintenance, and enhancement of applications supporting management of systems related to user management, infrastructure, alerting, device maintenance and management, process automation. The primary focus of this position is delivering cost effective, secure, and technologically sound programs required to drive efficiency in IT and related processes. This position is full-time and will be onsite at our Headquarters in Irving, Texas. Development of monitoring and reporting programs to ensure office automations are operating efficiently. * Provide primary support and response to SQL Database management and associated scripting. Support of Linux platforms and associated email systems running on Linux servers. * Ensure recovery of systems is applied to the environment in support of disaster recovery efforts. Be well versed in PowerShell, Python, or other scripting language to author new routines when automation would be helpful. Working knowledge of both Windows and Linux platforms * Ability to set priorities and perform a variety of complex and broad work assignments. Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems. * Strong attention to detail and sense of urgency.
