The Systems Developer II provides systems analysis, design, development, testing and support for moderately complex technical information system components.

A day in the Life:

Designs and develops components and services according to specifications within a team environment.Prepares detailed system documentation including requirements, specifications, test plans and user manuals.Performs unit and system tests and, as needed, validation testing.Assists DBA with database design.Coordinates with Operations staff on deployment of applications.Works with business partners to analyze and address support requests includingtraining.Provides support for existing systems and technologies, including second line application support during and after deployment.Ensures all activities are performed with quality and compliance

Keys to Success:

Education

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent BE, B Tech, ME, M Tech, BCA/MCA and BSC/M Sc with 2 – 5 years of experience in IT industry.

Analyzing requirements, designs and develop application component and servicesUnderstanding Application architecture, codebase and resolve defects on time with qualityPerforms system analysis and prepares details documentation including software design specification, unit test cases and release notesEnsures all activities are performed with quality and compliance by writing clean code with proper exception and error handlingAssists with database designCoordinated with Operation staff on deployment of applicationsWorks with business partners to analyze and address support request to include trainingPerforms unit and system tests and, as needed, validation testing and brings good coverage on junit testing

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Excellent in Java 8 coding skills, using predicate, lambda expression, streams, Collections API, Concurrency API and other features of Java 8Good in data structures, multithreading, OOAD and design patternsHands on with JEE: JDBC, Hibernate, JPA and JMSFrameworks: Spring, Spring MVC and SpringbootWeb Services: Rest/SOAP webservicesExpert in debugging: Local and Virtual machineDatabase: good in writing DML and DDL queries using SQL, PL/SQL, performance tuning and query optimizationTesting: Junits and MockitoServer: Tomcat 6 and 8.xOther: Linux/Unix, Git/SVN and Maven
