Systems Development Engineer IIThe Systems Development Engineer – Level 2 is responsible for designing Condition Based Monitoring programs for all of Niagara’s fixed assets. These include working on condition monitoring technologies and design continuous health monitoring systems through various IoT solutions to ensure all predictive maintenance related metrics and projects are maintained, completed and the company maintenance culture is at par with industry 4.0.
Detailed Description
Develop & Design Predictive Models and Analytic systems through Continuous Monitoring of critical asset parameters.
Conducts research to identify new opportunities for data science applications within an organization’s industry or sector.
Reviews data science proposals to determine whether they are feasible based on available resources.
Design, construct, install, test and maintain highly scalable data management systems.
Ensure systems meet business requirements and industry practices.
Build high-performance algorithms, prototypes, predictive models, and proof of concepts.
Reports results of data science projects to stakeholders, including executives and department managers.
Communicates with stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle to provide updates on progress and ensure alignment with objectives.
Coordinates with IT teams to ensure that the infrastructure needed to support data science projects is available.
Use extensive knowledge and research into big data tools to guide data scientists' adoption and use of new and existing tools.
Create custom software components (e.g., specialized UDFs) and analytics applications
Employ a variety of languages and tools (e.g., scripting languages) to marry systems together.
Recommend ways to improve data reliability, efficiency, and quality
Collaborate with data architects, modelers, and IT (Information Technology) team members on project goals.
Work on Process Automation development tools and Condition Based Maintenance Projects
Partner with IT (Information Technology) and Manufacturing Information Systems groups as part of project implementation.
Selecting features, building, and optimizing automation processes using machine learning and data acquisition techniques
Research opportunities for data acquisition and new uses for existing data.
Enhancing data collection procedures to include information that is relevant for building analytic systems
Works closely with all business units and engineering teams to develop strategy for Predictive and Prescriptive Models of Bottling assets
Processing, cleansing, and verifying the integrity of data used for analysis
Doing ad-hoc analysis and presenting results in a clear manner
Manage systems for measuring asset reliability for all manufacturing assets across all Niagara plants
Uses fundamental engineering concepts, practices, and procedures to analyze operational data/methods, identify improvement opportunities, and/or implement technology systems that meet business objectives.
Develop & Design advanced systems for Digitalizing all manufacturing assets across all Niagara plants.
Support with reliability knowledge the execution of the asset criticality, as part of the Asset Health Assurance Model.
Determine the function, capability, functional failure modes, probability of failure, impact severity and acceptable risk for assets to define the right maintenance requirements to eliminate functional failures and their effects.
Establish a systematic PM/PdM review process with support from the plant maintenance team to ensure the effectiveness of the existing PM/PdM program.
Coordinate PdM efforts on site to measure and secure an upward trend of the Asset Health.
Ensure appropriate follow up recommendations and actions from the inspection program of assets.
Identify and implement opportunities for improvement of Asset Health to optimize plant uptime.
Support the work preparation process to ensure job plans are prepared that explains the correct proactive tasks for effective work execution.
Support maintenance tasks aligned with the reliability improvement: link active machine downtime causes with PM (Preventive Maintenance) assessment and revision, Inventory Reduction, RCA, RCM, 5Why, 5S, and Reliability Centered Maintenance skills improvement using reliability knowledge.
Lead, as required, the RCFA and RCM processes within Maintenance organization using cross – functional teams to ensure appropriate changes to the PM/ PdM program or plant modifications are made which improve reliability and reduce avoidable maintenance costs.
Participate in and take relevant agreed actions for OPEX team meetings to ensure equipment capabilities and help to develop a culture focused on solutions.
Keep appropriate records to track program or equipment changes.
Coach site personnel in the digitalization work processes to ensure continued alignment to the Asset Health Assurance model.
Propose replacement projects based on asset health and conditions for the respective area of responsibility.
Establish cycles of improvement to ensure a sustainable reliability process.
Perform machine availability and OEE analysis to identify issues related to line performance and collaborate with plant and OEMs to trouble shoot these issues for improved line performance.
Manage and mentor the career development path of Level 1 Engineers.

Basic understanding of PLC/SCADA systems such SIEMENS S7, ALLEN BRADLEY, BnR, Edge data Management etc.
Proficiency with common data science toolkits, such as R, Weka, Python with focus on NumPy, Matplotlib and Pandas, MATLAB, etc.
Proficiency in using query languages such as SQL, Hive, Pig. Etc.
Proficiency in, but not limited to:
Microsoft Office Applications – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Project, Visio, etc.
