Systems Engineer, Princ

We are looking for a Systems Engineer to join our Shelby team!

As our Systems Engineer you will, develop electromechanical and hydromechanical actuation design solutions for commercial and defense related aircraft flight control and utility actuation applications. You will develop system architectures for integrated actuation sub-systems, and generate associated schematics, diagrams and descriptions to support contracted programs and new business proposals. You will also perform control system design, define system component characteristics and perform system simulation modeling to predict integrated system response dynamics. Manage, decompose and allocate system requirements and generate subtier level specifications. Apply MBSE to actuation system development, including for safety critical software controlled systems.

Your Challenge

Develop system architecture definition based on required system functionality and performancePerform actuation system simulation modeling and control system design using Matlab/Simulink to predict integrated system response dynamics and operating performanceDevelop, maintain and apply requirements database using tools such as IBM DOORS or CAMEO to show traceability to customer requirements, support the validation and verification process and generate lower tier component specificationsApply principles of Model Base Systems Engineering (MBSE) in support of the development of complex systems including safety critical software controlled systemsPerform analysis to define loading and performance characteristics in support of detailed design of components, major assemblies, software and systemsWork within product development teams to support equipment mechanical and electronic design and development from initial proposal through qualification phase

What You Bring

Bachelors Degree in Engineering or related field required10-12+ years of experienceMust be a Sole U.S CitizenHydraulic actuation system analysis and simulation is a plus.Model Based Systems Engineering experience required.Understanding of system engineering principals and methodology including MBSE. Strong analytical and problem solving skills. Strong interpersonal and team skills. Knowledge of electromechanical actuation system design and performance. Experience with Matlab/Simulink simulation modeling environment, IBM DOORS or CAMEO requirements management software, and MS Office (Project, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
