**About the Team**
The Systems Engineer role will be part of the Sales Engineering team located in Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa. This team is dedicated to collaborating with the sales department to technically qualify customer needs and ensure their successful engagement with Nutanix products. The team culture emphasizes communication, customer focus, and collaboration, creating an environment where team members support each other and work closely with account managers to drive sales opportunities. The mission of the team is to foster strong customer relationships and provide tailored solutions that enhance the Nutanix customer experience.
You will report to the SE Team Lead, who adopts a hands-on leadership style that blends technical expertise with team management. The manager values collaboration and expects team members to quickly adapt to their operations while emphasizing the importance of customer interactions and communication. The work setup for this role is primarily hybrid, requiring the new hire to work from home but come into the office at least once or twice a week to engage in face-to-face interactions with colleagues and customers.
The travel requirements for this role include traveling to customer sites within Gauteng, as well as potential trips to Cape Town and other regions across South Africa. Additionally, there may be responsibilities requiring flights to neighbouring countries within the SADC region. International travel for company events is also required.
**Your Role**
+ Assist in technically qualifying whether Nutanix products are a fit for customers.
+ Support the sales team during the presale process and product demonstrations.
+ Help customers adopt Nutanix portfolio products by understanding their requirements and creating tailored solutions.
+ Collaborate with account managers to drive sales opportunities and maintain customer relationships.
+ Conduct regular customer visits, check-ins and assist with support escalations.
+ Build strong relationships with account managers.
+ Maintain sales data hygiene and contribute to team collaboration efforts.
**What You Will Bring**
+ 3-4 years of relevant experience in systems engineering or related field.
+ Strong communication skills with a focus on customer relations.
+ Experience in qualification, objection handling, and identifying sales opportunities.
+ Technical background Virtualization, networking, and open-source software would be an advantage.
+ Public speaking and presentation skills for conducting product demonstrations.
+ Ability to travel regionally to meet customers and attend company events.
+ Proven ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment and support sales initiatives.
**Work Arrangement**
Hybrid: This role operates in a hybrid capacity, blending the benefits of remote work with the advantages of in-person collaboration. For most roles, that will mean coming into an office a minimum of 2 - 3 days per week, however certain roles and/or teams may require more frequent in-office presence. Additional team-specific guidance and norms will be provided by your manager.
