Systems Engineer Liquid Robotics is seeking a Systems Engineer to join us in the development of autonomous ocean robots. As part of our small but highly-motivated team, you will participate in systems engineering activities that contribute to world-changing products. The successful candidate will bring experience with systems engineering best practices in areas of requirements management and testing, an ability to work on cross-functional teams, and strong communication skills. This engineer is based in Herndon, Virginia. Essential Responsibilities Support efforts to translate customer and business needs into requirements for new and updated products. Team with engineers from various disciplines to manage (create, modify, decompose and derive) system and subsystem requirements and interfaces. Use Cameo tools to define and refine system models. Develop test plans and procedures, support execution of tests, and develop test reports. Support development of risk analyses and mitigations. Assist in development and execution of trade studies and prototype analyses.Work with experts to resolve systems issues. Assist with preparation and release of product documentation. Support development and improvement of company processesKey Attributes: Familiarity with systems engineering best practices for requirements, architecture, design, and test. Experience in a structured systems engineering process. Some exposure to Cameo modeling tools and the Systems Modeling Language (SysML). Strong technical skills and the ability to learn new information quickly. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Minimum Qualifications: BS in a relevant engineering degree or equivalent. 2+ years of direct engineering experience (relevant internships included) Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Experience with the Liquid Robotics Wave Glider is a discriminator.Ability to obtain a US Secret Clearance required.
