UDRI is seeking a systems engineer to support multiple programs involving systems engineering (SE) and digital engineering (DE) initiatives. The successful candidate will be self-driven, an excellent communicator, have a strong background in digital and model-based engineering in defense or commercial applications. The position will support multiple clients, primarily government. Join our team as a Systems Engineer!
This position will support clients in helping them understand Air Force DE requirements and guidance, translate that guidance into actionable plans, and guide and support clients through plan implementation. It will also provide technical direction for assigned junior engineers, project managers, and technicians supporting DE efforts.
Minimum Qualifications:R2 Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelors of Science in an engineering field
- 8 years’ experience working in systems engineering
- Experience in aspects of digital engineering relevant to USAF acquisition/sustainment
- Experience leading multifunctional teams or integrated process teams
- Successful experience in any or all of the following:
-> Model based system engineering (MBSE)
-> Applying Cameo or similar MBSE-enabling toolset
-> Developing solutions architectures
-> Requirements derivation, flow down, & management
- Experience with formulating/authoring Government contracts and completing technical evaluations
- Strong written communication skills
- Due to requirements of our research contracts with the U.S. federal government, candidates for this position must be a U.S. Citizen
- Must be able to obtain security clearance
R3 Minimum Qualifications:

- 12 years’ experience working in systems engineering
- 4 years' experience in aspects of digital engineering relevant to USAF acquisition/sustainment
- Experience leading multifunctional teams or integrated process teams
- Successful experience in two of the following:
-> Model based system engineering (MBSE)
-> Applying Cameo or similar MBSE-enabling toolset
-> Developing solutions architectures
-> Requirements derivation, flow down, & management
- Experience with formulating/authoring Government contracts and completing technical evaluations
- Strong written communication skills
- Due to requirements of our research contracts with the U.S. federal government, candidates for this position must be a U.S. Citizen
- Must be able to obtain security clearance

- Familiar with USAF Flightline maintenance processes, systems, and/or data
- Demonstrated successful experience in any of the following:
-> Supporting an AFMC program office in engineering role
-> Operating in Teamcenter or similar product lifecycle management (PLM) system
-> Working as systems engineer with project leadership responsibility
-> With digital thread/digital twin application or implementation
-> As systems engineer in DoD, NASA, aerospace, or automotive industries
- Demonstrated strong verbal communicator
- Experience with SBIR contracts
R3 Preferred Qualifications
- MS in engineering field or an MBA
- Systems engineering degree or certification
- 12+ years’ experience in systems engineering
- Direct experience with USAF Flightline maintenance processes, systems, and/or data
- Demonstrated successful experience in all of the following:
