Position Objetive
Designs, develops, troubleshoots, and debugs software programs for enhancements and new products. Develops software and support tools for design, infrastructure, and technology platforms, including operating systems, compilers, routers, networks, utilities, databases, cloud-based tools, and internet-related systems. Determines hardware compatibility and/or influences hardware design.
Functions and Responsibilities In-depth knowledge of operating systems, network infrastructures, and relational databases as they relate to systems support. Must be self-motivated (when applicable) and stay updated on new and emerging technologies relevant to the company. Ability to carry out activities related to new installations, upgrades, and long-term maintenance support for any/all IGT Gaming Systems software applications. Ability to contribute to the definition or modification of currently established processes, procedures, and standards to improve efficiency. Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team to achieve specific goals or draft policies and procedures relevant to the Systems Support organization. Ability to communicate effectively (verbally and in writing) in both English and Spanish with other related organizations (internal and external) to develop solutions as needed. Related organizations include (but are not limited to) software engineering, product management, account specialists, product assurance, regulators, and customers. Internal communication includes peers and management within the Support Services organization. Ability to draft applicable documentation at the systems engineer level when necessary or as assigned. Ability to use remote connectivity solutions to provide real-time assistance on production systems while following compliance guidelines. Ability to adhere to best practices, standardized processes, and standard operating procedures. Deep knowledge of customer service principles and ability to work with customers with varying levels of skill and competence. Ability to perform thorough system analyses and develop supporting documentation. Ability to recreate reported issues in a lab environment, working to find a solution and following appropriate channels to address them in the field. RequirementsEducation:
Bachelor’s degree in a technology-related field; others may be considered.
Experience:
A minimum of 3 years of work experience in systems engineering, quality control, database administration, IT, or a related engineering support role.
Essential Requirements:
Linux-based technologies. Knowledge of microservices and containers. Deep understanding of servers and computing systems, including network administration, operating system installation, software support, database administration, and system installation/integration. Knowledge in the following areas: Windows Server 2000-2022, Microsoft SQL Server 2005-2022, SQL Server deployment/administration/query, network design/troubleshooting. Ability to work outside of regular business hours, including weekends and holidays (depending on business needs). Willingness to travel as needed. Advanced English skills.
