SUMMARY:

 
The Systems Engineer will have expertise in strategic planning, design, engineering, installation, and activation of complex new Land Based test/training capabilities, and/or surface combatant modernization. This position is not covered under the Service Contract Act (SCA) Davis Bacon Act (DBA), or union.  

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

 

Other duties may be assigned.


• The Systems Engineer must have experience or be able to quickly learn internal and external facility networking, wiring diagrams/schematics and cable plant configuration management and control.
• The Systems Engineer will have experience with the Microsoft Office suite of products.
• The Systems Engineer will assist:
− In the development of new site/lab activation requirements including scoping the effort, developing plans/presentations, providing status updates and plan changes, generating installation drawings and documentation
− In the development of content for design reviews and track software changes until initial operating capability 
• The Systems Engineer will assist with requirements development, under the guidance of Sites Planning Agent (SPA) Engineering, to include the development and tracking of acquisition packages through the procurement process within a Government approved system.
• The Systems Engineer will help develop cost estimates and reports. 
• The Systems Engineer will produce inputs and presentations of engineering and acquisition related documentation for reviews and dissemination to customers and Sites.

 

REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:

  
Education and Experience:


• Must have a Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited program and two (2) years of Surface Combatant Weapons System experience, or 5 years of equivalent work experience in lieu of the degree.

• Proficiency in Microsoft VISIO and the Microsoft Office suite of tools is required.

• Competency in the area of facility and/or system design, network design, and cable fiber distribution systems.
• Must have a DOD Secret security clearance.
• Ability to prioritize.
• Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFYING FACTORS: 


Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.  In addition, a satisfactory background screening, negative drug screen, positive references and proof of identity and legal authorization to work in the United States and for TTI are required.  May require occasional travel.
