Systems Engineer

POSITION OVERVIEW:

Responsible for configuration, maintenance, support & documentation of overall core infrastructure, servers, storage, virtualization, backup, high availability, disaster recovery and network/telecom.    Position ensures systems are in accordance with requirements, expectations, and best practices for the business and meet audit & compliance requirements.  This role holds the responsibility of managing a diverse environment (Production, Test, Development) for all the company’s applications across multiple data centers as well as cloud technology.  Position plans and implements critical projects in support of a wide range of complex applications that rely on server functionality.  Responsible for proactive monitoring of systems and responding to alert notifications on a 24x7 basis.  Responsibilities may also include support, compliance & administration for company workstations, mobile devices & user/group accounts, permissions, access management.   Position contributes to the IT SOP & helps ensure compliance with it.  Positions ensures optimal system & network performance. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position requires a high level of independent judgment, technical skill, organization, and planning.  Must possess a core set of troubleshooting skills and technical knowledge that can yield timely results without delay and successfully multi-task several assignments without loss of quality. MAJOR JOB ACTIVITIES:

Develop and engineer all server configuration standards including hardware and software specifications. Provide configuration, maintenance, support & documentation for all network servers using system management tools. Provide configuration, maintenance, support & documentation for core infrastructure, storage, virtualization, backup, high availability, disaster recovery and network/switches & telecom.     Recommend, engineer, develop project plans, and manage the updating, enhancement, or expansion of the NuCO2 systems & network as directed by management.  Recommend solutions that meet business needs. Lead/manage system & network implementation projects to ensure success - within budget and assigned timeframes. Provide advanced technical support to the rest of the IT Team to successfully resolve problems, design solutions & assist with deployment of solutions as needed.  Create/Maintain accurate and current documentation of system installation settings and specifications. Consistently render exceptional customer service to all NuCO2 employees & contractors. Assist in User Access Management, include on boarding and offboarding process. Work with Corporate IT on projects to resolve issues. Conducts system performance reviews and where necessary, implements corrective action.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

7+ years related to system engineering/Infrastructure and customer support experience. Advanced experience (5+ Years) with installation, configuration, maintenance, support for current supported releases of: Microsoft Server, Microsoft Systems Center (Configuration Manager, Operations Manager, etc), Microsoft SQL Server, Internet Information Server, Terminal Server Microsoft Windows O365, Microsoft Exchange, and Active Directory Enterprise backup and replication technologies (Rubrik) Nutanix AHV/HCI & VMware 5+ years’ experience in enterprise corporate infrastructure design, implementation, and troubleshooting 5+ years supporting data center co-located equipment. Design and support of systems within an enterprise environment spanning on premise and cloud services. Extensive experience in script design and process automation in infrastructure environments. Avaya, VOIP, PBX experience a plus. Experience with enterprise level EDR & Zero Trust security technologies (i.e. Cloud Strike, Zscaler) Knowledge of cabling systems, WAN design, firewalls, Intrusion Detection systems installation, support, and monitoring

EDUCATION AND TRAINING:

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college with a minimum 7+ years of system/network administration/engineering experience. Required Certifications:  MCSE Required expertise: Advanced Powershell bash scripting experience, O365 admin center, AD security best practices MCSA, MCITP, VCP (VMware), CCNA, CISSP Certifications preferred.

GENERAL OFFICE REQUIREMENTS:

This position will operate Monday-Friday during normal business hours. Will be assigned on a rotating and on-call basis for 24x7 support, providing technical assistance for all custom and packaged application modules in a production environment. Some evening and weekend support should be expected. Travel requirements for this position are less than 5% of the time.
