Systems Engineer

Oneida Technical Solutions, LLC (OTS) has a rich history of providing IT support and associated services in highly complex, highly regulated, highly secure environments, including the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD), law enforcement, health care, retail, and the casino gaming industry. OTS is a wholly owned subsidiary of Oneida Innovations Group and is the parent company of Croop-LaFrance (CLF), an experienced federal contracting firm.\n

We are currently seeking a Systems Engineer for a contract currently underway.\n

The Systems Engineer will be responsible for providing technical expertise and systems engineering support for a Foreign Military Sales (FMS) Air Operations Center (AOC) program. Under direction of the Chief Systems Engineer, the Senior Systems Engineer uses engineering processes and expertise to support design, development, documentation, integration, test, and verification of systems.\n

Responsibilities:\n\nAnalyze user requirements, system requirements specifications, system architecture, and provide systems engineering expertise.\nDevelop system architecture and system design documentation.\nSupport system development and implementation planning through assessment of system requirement documents.\nProvide systems engineering support for design, development, integration, test, and verification of highly complex mission-critical systems.\nExperience in designing, implementing, and maintaining VMware infrastructure. VMware Cloud Foundation utilizing ESXi, NSX, VCF Operations, vCenter, vSAN...\nNetwork Virtualization (NSX-T): Design, configure, and manage VMware NSX-T environments, including virtual networks, distributed firewalls, and security policies. Monitor and optimize network performance and troubleshoot issues related to network infrastructure.\nSupport translation of operational requirements and user needs into functional and technical specifications and development of requirements traceability matrices.\nDevelop, maintain, and track design baselines through configuration control measures.\nParticipate in informal and formal design and engineering reviews.\nConduct risk assessments and analyses of alternatives for system components and system design considerations.\nIncorporate cybersecurity considerations into system design.\nAdhere to Department of Defense (DoD), US Air Force (USAF), and other industry standards and best practices.\nInterface with customers, suppliers and stakeholders to generate component and system specifications.\nDefine hardware and software interfaces between systems and subsystems.\nIn collaboration with other engineers and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and under direction of the Senior Systems Engineer, generate technical documentation including, but not limited to System\/Subsystem Design Descriptions (SSDDs), Installation Specifications, Technical Data Packages (TDPs), Preliminary and Critical Designs, Interface Control Documents (ICDs), Systems Integration Plan (SIP), Site Preparation Requirements and Installation Plan (SPRIP), Installation Specifications, Technical Reports, Integrated Program Management Data and Analysis Reports (IPMDARs), Test and Evaluation Program Plan (TEPP), Test Procedures, Configuration Audit Plans, Test Procedures, and Test\/Inspection Reports.\nParticipate in working groups, Technical Interchange Meetings (TIMs), Integrated Product Team (IPT) Meetings, and Program Reviews as required.\nProvide subject matter expertise to Training Developers in support of training material development.\nSupport system integration and testing in lab environment CONUS.\nSupport on-site installation team with system integration and testing OCONUS.\nPerform other duties as assigned.\n\n

Requirements:\n\nActive Secret security clearance\nBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related Engineering discipline.\nMinimum three (3) years of experience working as an engineer for DoD\/Military programs.\nExperience supporting systems design on large scale DoD\/MILCON programs.\nExperience with Secure Computing Environments and Virtual Desktop Infrastructure.\nExperience with red\/black separation requirements.\nWilling and able to travel CONUS and OCONUS up to 30%.\nStrong technical, analytical, and interpersonal skills.\nExperience working in a cross-functional team made up of other engineers and technical experts.\nStrong written and verbal communication skills.\n\n

Preferred skills:\n\nExperience with the design of Operations Centers\/Command Centers.\nExperience with Command and Control (C2) systems for the US Air Force.\nExperience with C4I systems, including Audio Visual, Access Control \/ Intrusion Detection (ACS\/IDS), Voice Communications, Link 16, Ground Based Air Defense (GBAD), etc.\nLocal\/able to commute to Oneida, NY\n\n
