KBR is seeking an experienced engineer to provide certified flight control support within the Houston Support Group (HSG) to the International Space Station (ISS) Operations within the FOD Operations Division, Mission Operations Integration and Planning Branch, in the Vehicle Operations & Systems Integration Group (CO32). The position provides an integration function between MCC-Houston (MCC-H) and MCC-Moscow (TsUP). The candidate must be willing to travel to Moscow, Russia, from 70 to 180 days in a calendar year and support console operations in MCC-H. Duties will require successfully completing the Russian Segment Specialist (RSS) and Remote Interface Officer (RIO) certification process ( 12-24 months), with potential opportunities to become an Operations Lead. This position requires the candidate to pass a flight controller physical.
The candidate must have demonstrated abilities to:
· Maintain awareness of multiple technical situations and appropriately prioritize activities.
· Understand nominal and off-nominal operations for a technical system and its interaction(s) with other systems; including the ability to manage multiple issues at one time while still coming up with an integrated solution;
· Possess excellent written and oral communication skills.
· Plan, prioritize, and coordinate tasks and resolve issues within a team environment across multiple organizations.
Education/Experience Required: Typically requires a Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, science, mathematics or other technically related area and 10+years of related experience.
Not required, but highly desired, the ability to read and speak Russian language.
