Systems Engineer

POSITION SUMMARY:

Let Metis put your skills to work for USSF at Kirtland AFB on the Engineering, Development, Integration, and Sustainment (EDIS) contract in   support of Space Systems Command (SSC).  The candidate will provide systems engineering, planning, integration, and sustainment services including developing and maintaining the multiple satellite ground systems, which involves the Multi-Mission Satellite Operations Center command and control ground system architecture, as well as equipment, systems, and facilities.

 

The candidate will perform: 

Systems Integration: Coordinate, implement, and sustain complex ground system architectures working with network engineering, hardware engineering and system administration teams.Cutting-Edge Projects: Work on modernizing satellite ground systems for the United States Space Force (USSF). Your work will directly support national security and space exploration missions.Cross-Functional Collaboration: Develop, integrate, maintain, and retire legacy satellite ground systems in coordination with networking, systems administration, cyber, and hardware teams.Technical Presentations: Document requirements and present technical solutions through Engineering Review Board (ERB) and Change Control Board (CCB) presentations.Integration and Testing: Integrate and test hardware and software from various vendors, configure and test interfaces with networking teams, and test mission software with systems admin teams.Plans and Procedures: Draft and maintain system test plans, implementation plans, and test procedures.Customer Collaboration: Advise customers on test strategies, and work with Satellite Control Network test centers as part of system integration and test.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Bachelor's degree in an engineering field and 9 years of technical experience or 4 additional years of experience may be used in lieu of degree

 

Experience: Minimum 3 years direct experience in space systems, space command and control, or equivalent relevant disciplines including industry (development Contractor), DoD or other Agency (NRO, NSA, NASA, etc.) background

Required Skills and knowledge:

Out going self-starter able to collect information and coordinate activities to achieve successful program objectivesExperience in integrating and testing hardware and software from various vendorsAbility to create and maintain critical system documents such as Interface Control Documents and network topologies.Competence in creating presentations for Engineering Review Board (ERB) and Change Control Board (CCB).Expertise in drafting and maintaining system test plans, implementation plans, and test procedures.Knowledge in developing, integrating, and maintaining secure networks with cyberspace engineers.

 

 

LOCATION SPECIFIC REQUIRMENTS: Kirtland AFB, Albuquerque, NM

 

SECURITY CLEARANCE: Active Top Secret or DoE Q clearance with SCI eligibility (must be eligible for SCI indoctrination within first 3 months of start date) and be able to obtain and maintain TS/SCI
