**The Work**
The system engineer in this position will work across several Aegis programs with responsibilities in Ballistic Missile Defense \(BMD\) and Integrated Air Missile Defense \(IAMD\) tasking for the Mission Planner\. The system engineer will help design and develop models and algorithms in support of BMD and IAMD missions\. Additional tasking and responsibilities will include analyzing and assessing mission capabilities and solutions\.
You will have responsibility for algorithmic design, data analysis, requirements development, modeling and simulation\.
This will entail developing solutions to mathematical and physics\-based problems in the area of mission planning for IAMD scenarios\. You will be responsible for ensuring the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into a total system solution that acknowledges technical, schedule, and cost constraints\.

**Basic Qualifications:**
\* Must be able to acquire and maintain a DoD Secret Security clearance to be considered for this position\*
\- Bachelor degree in Aerodynamics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Physics, or closely related technical field
\- Minimum two \(2\) years' relevant systems engineering work experience
**Desired Skills:**
\- MS level degree in Aerodynamics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Physics, or closely related technical field
\- Demonstrated interest and ability to learn new tools and technologies and successfully leverage those to successfully complete projects in a timely manner
\- US Navy Operator or Aegis Combat Systems experience
\- Ability to research technical challenges and provide effective solutions
\- Matlab familiarity
\- Aerodynamic modeling
\- Software requirements familiarity
\- Machine learning familiarity
\- Data science familiarity
\- Desire to grow into a leader
**Security Clearance Statement:** This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration\.

**Ability to Work Remotely:** Onsite Full\-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility\.
**Work Schedules:** Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees\. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed\. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits\.
**Schedule for this Position:** 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
