Job Description
Join our team as a Systems Engineer for the Global SATCOM Configuration Control Element (GSCCE) program. The GSCCE system manages and controls the Wideband Global SATCOM (WGS) satellites, crucial for providing high-capacity communications for military operations. This program has evolved to incorporate virtual machine software solutions, enhancing resilience and cost-effectiveness in support of the U.S. Air Force's Space Enterprise Vision (SEV) and Enterprise Ground Services (EGS) initiatives. As a Systems Engineer, you will perform a trade study on the existing product for a modernization effort, involving high-level system architecture design documentation and automated generation of design documents.
ResponsibilitiesConduct a trade study on the existing GSCCE product for modernization efforts.Create high-level system architecture design documentation.Automate the generation of high-level design documents.Collaborate with team members to ensure seamless integration of new solutions.Support the implementation of virtual machine software solutions.Essential SkillsProficiency in Java and Spring Boot.Experience with Agile methodologies.Knowledge of Jira, Git, Maven, and Jenkins.Additional Skills & QualificationsSoftware architecture experience.Experience with SATCOM/telemetry & command.Proficiency in the automation of higher-level architecture design documents.Familiarity with IDD, SDD, and SBOM.Experience with prototyping, modernization of software, virtualization, and containerization.Knowledge of visual frameworks and microservice-oriented architecture.Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker, Rancher, and Kubernetes.Work Environment
This role requires working onsite at the facility on Wooten Rd, with a planned move to a location in Colorado Springs in the next several months.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $90.00/hr.
