Right now the company is experiencing exciting growth across the country and we are currently seeking a motivated Systems Engineer to join the Short Range Ground Based Air Defence (SRGBAD) Support program based at the Centre for Joint Integration facility in Mawson Lakes. The SRGBAD Support program manages leading-edge defence equipment for the Australian Army’s air defence capability, continually developing new enhancements to maintain the Army’s technological edge in the air defence capability domain.

We are looking for engineers and engineering officers with a talent for big picture thinking, attention to detail and the right technical knowledge. Most importantly though, the know how to apply that technical theory and concepts and deliver real-world solutions for the Army.

As a Systems Engineer you will be supporting the development of requirements, design, and verification artefacts to support the SRGBAD capability. Opportunities exist within the SRGBAD Support program Communications and Cyber teams.

Key Responsibilities

Support the team to register and review Technical Information received from internal and external stakeholders.Conduct Technical Investigations and develop of engineering and technical reports.Develop engineering design changes SRGBAD Mission System.Support the team in development of design change requirements, integration and verification test programs.Support the team to plan, design, implement and test tactical RF and IP voice and data communications links.Configure, operate and troubleshoot tactical RF communications and IP networking equipment.Support the team to maintain cyber compliance, in accordance with Defence Cyber policiesConduct cyber security assessments, develop compliance reports and provide recommended actions.Available to undertake travel to meet the requirements of the role including within Australia and internationally.

Skills, Experience and Qualifications

Certificate III or higher in Engineering or equivalent discipline.Minimum of 3 years’ prior relevant experience.Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite.Familiarity with Linux (RHEL) desirable.Familiarity with administration of Microsoft Windows desirable.Understanding of the DSPF, PSPF and ISM desirable.Cybersecurity and/or Communication Networks experience desirable.Demonstrated experience within a Defence environment desirable.Knowledge of Systems Engineering Lifecycle desirable.Familiarity with Tactical RF communications systems and equipment desirable.Familiarity with Tactical IP network communication systems and equipment desirable.
