As Sr. Controls Systems Engineer, you will work closely with hardware, software, software test, and algorithm engineering as well as other core business functions on the execution of embedded controls development projects. You will become an expert on key Trane Residential controls-based systems and will use this expertise to manage comprehensive technical requirements and oversee the successful completion of Controls development activities on assigned projects.

Due to the nature of this role, this position has been designated as a Hybrid work schedule In Tyler, Texas, with work performed onsite 3 days each week.
Core Job Responsibilities (others may be added):
Serve as the Systems Engineer on Residential HVAC controls engineering projects including system controls, embedded controls, user interfaces, and home automation devicesServe as the Product Owner on assigned project Scrum Teams, using your system expertise and understanding of Agile methodology to prioritize and oversee the software development team’s tasksLead requirements development, management, verification, and validation activities on assigned projectsMonitor and consult on software defects, as well as lead periodic independent technical reviewsUtilize effective communication techniques to ensure team members understand and implement according to the design strategyProactively identify and mitigate potential issues by performing technical risk assessmentsUse your passion for continuous improvement to identify opportunities for improvements to processes, procedures, and toolsMinimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Software Engineering, Computer Science, or Physics.5+ years of embedded controls development experience is required.Master’s Degree is a plus.Key Competencies:
Working knowledge of control systems, instrumentation, human-machine interfaces (HMI), communication networks, and/or distributed networked systems.Experience with product developmentDemonstrated leadership and teaming skills especially with geographically dispersed teamsResults-oriented with an emphasis on achieving team performanceMust work effectively in an open, consensus-oriented, team environmentHVAC knowledge is a plusINCOSE certification is a plusCompensation:
Base Pay Range: $80,000 to $140,000
