Summary

Huntington Ingalls Industries (HII) Mission Technologies is seeking a Systems Engineer to support our customer, the US Air Forces in Europe and Air Forces in Africa (USAFE-AFAFRICA), who have a requirement to develop a robust, resilient network that supports Air Base Air Defense (ABAD) efforts throughout the USAFE AOR Aviano Air Base, Italy. This includes an IT infrastructure's design, engineering, documentation, implementation, and security. The Systems Engineer would be part of a multi-disciplinary team of geographically separated professionals supporting tacticalC2 efforts throughout the EUCOM AOR.

What You Will Do Integration of Communications, Sensors, and Command & Control Elements and documentation of the systemhardware/software. Review joint all-domain command and control concepts, levels of effectiveness, architecture and design. Install, configure, test and maintain operating systems, application software and system management toolsutilized in joint all-domain command and control systems. Proactively ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability. Monitor and test system performance, identify possible solutions, and work with developers to implement thosesolutions. Maintain security, backup, and redundancy strategies. Continuously increase system efficiency and lower the human intervention time on tasks. Participate in the design of information and operational support systems. Provide 2nd and 3rd level support. Liaise with vendors and other communications and IT personnel for problem resolution. What We Are Looking For 9 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 7 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 4 years relevant experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 13 years relevant experience. Demonstrated experience as a communication systems engineer providing program and project management support, working with a team to maintain programmatic, customer engagement, requirements analysis and decomposition of work. Engineering knowledge on developing Interface Control Documents (ICDs) and relevant data products to properly document a DoD Command and Control System. Experience operating complex data fusion systems, RF hardware, and relevant command and control systems. Thorough knowledge of network design and maintenance, fault isolation, performance monitoring, configuration management standards, principles, and techniques. Must have domain knowledge sufficient to assess and document the performance of modern joint command and control systems. Clearance- Must possess and maintain a TS/SCI Preferred: Bonus Points For... A master's degree in Engineering, Systems Engineering, or Computer Science. 10 years of recent specialized experience in command and control systems, Android Team Awareness Kit(ATAK), and Tactical Data Links. Demonstrated communication skills; both written and oral concerning technical material and explaining these aspects to non-technical customers. Flexible with proven ability to conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
