Description
The Systems Engineer will provide pre/post-sale support to end users and OEMs for Copeland compression, system controls and variable speed drives. The primary responsible will be interfacing with end user customers on a technical level, to understand and guide them towards acceptable solutions while keeping regulatory changes in mind. The Systems Engineer will liaison with product engineering, review progress and evaluate results, and advocate for changes in design or equipment for customers when necessary. Train end user field technician teams on Copeland products, governing regulations and alternate refrigerants. Work cross functionally with other internal groups such as product engineering, labs, marketing, product managers, and sales. Clearly and accurately communicate, both written and verbally, at all levels of the organization and with the customer.
AS A SYSTEMS ENGINEER - END USER & OEM, YOU WILL:
Provide pre/post-sale technical support to end users for HVACR products:
Assist customers in compressor, drive and controls selection for refrigeration systems/racks.
Guide end users to select the correct refrigeration condensing systems/racks for their store formats.
Educate customers as they select the appropriate refrigerant (Naturals/A1, A2, A2L, A3) and system topologies.
Provide Application Reviews of customer's system data.
Train end user field technician teams on Copeland products, governing regulations, and alternate refrigerants.
Identify appropriate replacement compressors and parts.
Complete site visits providing start-up and trouble-shooting support.
Support end user documentation and specifications.
Engage Quality team to address compressor non-conformities and provide teardown reports.
Aid Marketing and Development teams with voice of the customer feedback.
Work cross functionally with other internal groups such as product engineering, labs, marketing, product managers, and sales.
Clearly and accurately communicate, both written and verbally, at all levels of the organization and with the customer.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS:
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent (Co-op experience is a plus)
Knowledge of HVACR Systems and current EPA regulations.
Excellent customer communications and troubleshooting skills with experience working directly with OEM customers on new product design and development.
Customer-focused and service-oriented
Strives for continuous personal development and improvement.
Portrays a professional image to the customers and to the team.
Proficient with report writing, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
Ability to travel up to 30%
Legal Authorization to work in the United States - Sponsorship will not be provided for this role.
PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS:
Associate's Degree in an Engineering background plus ten (10) years of experience.
Electronic Controls / Variable Frequency Drives knowledge as applied at the equipment/system level.
Hands-on experience with CO2 compression systems and controls.
