Systems Engineer II

Responsibilities:

Develop an understanding for the specific mechanical engineering requirements per projectStudy and become familiar with the elementary system drawingsConveyor manifestsEngineering hours estimateProject contract requirements and optionsProvide technical interface with customer’s project representative(s)Project scope definitionsContract change ordersCustomer specifications / standards.3D model reviewsDevelop and maintain a mechanical engineering schedule that provides timely delivery of material to fully support an installation schedule.Firm grasp of project contract documents including clarifications and exceptions. Execute the project within the budget and hours in the contract estimate.Provide technical support for vendors, field installation personnel, and engineering subcontractors as related to inquiriesHost and support weekly meetings with project team members and customersDelegate and monitor tasks given to engineering team members on regular cadenceMaintain project-specific requirements while applying general knowledge of conveying systems, conveying equipment and customer general specifications and standardsInterpret and ensure compliance with customer specifications.Communicate project specific information with other MHS departments including project management, purchasing, electrical engineering, field installation and fabrication department.Release drawings for installation and fabricationCreate material purchase requestsRelate information regarding changes to scope of work for the project as they occur.Communicate status updates to engineering management on a regular cadenceBe cognoscente of areas for professional development, cost reduction, quality improvements and enhanced customer service.Check drawings provided by mechanical designers for accuracy and provide feedback for corrections as needed.Perform or assist in directing engineering analysis as determined by project needs in disciplines including structural, mechanical power transmission and fluid power.

Education and Experience:

Three to Five years of material handling equipment experience preferably within the conveyor systems industryExperience with executing and support medium to large projectsBachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience in mechanical engineering and design

Travel Requirements:

Some domestic travel required +/- 10%. Depends on project needs and urgency

The base salary range for this role is $66,100 to $99,200.  This base salary range represents the low and high end of the base salary range for this position. Actual base salary offered will vary based on various factors including but not limited to location, level, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and performance.
