Summary
The Systems Engineer leads the requirements analysis, tracking and verification for hardware development programs. This position pertains primarily to the requirements definition and validation segment of military simulator design/development and is largely project oriented. Design organization, management, and testing are within the duties to achieve program completion.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

+ Support planning functions and perform system engineering development tasks that includes system requirements and gap analysis, system design, system integration support, test procedure development, and requirement verification and validation
+ Work with the customer and subcontractors to ensure common understanding of system requirements and design
+ Provide input in developing new solutions, processes, or standards within area of responsibility including system architectures
+ Support development of program system risk and opportunities profile, and assist with mitigation and capture plans
+ Coordinate requirements compliance for the project
+ Coordinate with all engineering functions to ensure common understanding of system requirements and design
+ Coordinate with external partners and subcontractors / vendors to develop/define system requirements and technical capabilities
+ Perform system requirements analysis using DOORS or DOORS Next Generation and other system engineering tools
+ Create and update essential engineering documents including specifications, reports, plans, technical memos, program CDRLs, and presentations
Qualifications and Education Requirements

+ Bachelor’s Degree in a Science, Engineering, Math or other STEM field with a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience, or Graduate Degree in a Math, Science, Engineering or other STEM-related field with a minimum of 5 years of prior Defense contractor related experience
+ Prefer 5 years of experience with system concept definition, requirement analysis, design, development, implementation, and verification
+ Prefer 5 years of Systems Engineering experience with the government program acquisition lifecycle, to include all phases of system engineering
+ Prefer experience with the development of proposals, including ability to identify, accurately scope and estimate new efforts as needed, development of technical volumes, basis of estimates, rationale, and other supporting documentation
+ Proven ability to develop innovative solutions both individually and as part of a team
+ Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate complex information to technical and non-technical audiences including peers, management and customers
+ Strong MS-Office toolset skills
+ Due to U.S. Government contract requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for this role.
*Candidates must be a US Citizen and not have been previously denied a security clearance
Preferred Skills
·
+ Knowledge of military simulator/training devices, current systems engineering methods, practices, and technologies
+ Experience using DOORS (NG and/or classic) and JIRA
+ SysML and Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), especially with 3DS Cameo tools
+ Ability to clearly and effectively communicate with co-workers, company management & leadership, and customer representatives
+ Experience developing effective presentation materials and documentation for internal and customer-directed presentations
+ Understanding and application of Earned Value Management (EVM)
+ Programming and/or database administration (MATLAB, C-family, LabVIEW, Python, Jira, SQL, etc.)
+ Hands-on testing and debugging systems in a lab/test facility environment
+ Computer Aided Design (especially Solidworks or CREO)
+ Model-based definition and GD&T
+ Windchill toolset experience
Security Responsibilities
Must comply with all company security and data protection / usage policies and procedures. Personally responsible for proper marking and handling of all information and materials, in any form. Shall not divulge any information, or afford access, to other employees not having a need-to-know. Shall not divulge information outside company without management approval. All government and proprietary information will be accessed and stored electronically on company provided resources.
· Incumbent must be eligible for DoD Personal Security Clearance.

Work is performed in an environment where irritants such as noise from telephones, temperature, and lighting variations may exist, but there is little chance of injury, accident, or occupational health problems.
