Boeing Defense Space and Security (BDS) is hiring for a broad range of experience levels including Mid-Level (Level 3) and Senior (Level 4) Systems Engineers to support development and sustainment efforts for the P-8A Advanced Airborne Systems (AAS) program located in Richardson, TX. The candidate will support multiple phases of the product lifecycle, to include requirements development, architecture analysis, bid & proposal work, verification & validation, and change impact analyses.

This position supports an integrated team of multi-skilled engineers, and there will be opportunities to cross train with counterparts at other sites in order to enable technical growth and continued learning. The candidate will also have the opportunity to interface directly with customers and end users, present at design reviews and to senior leadership, and make an impact at a program level.

Position Responsibilities Include:

Work on an integrated team of software, hardware, and systems engineers to develop, troubleshoot, and test new and existing AAS productsAnalyze and translate requirements into system architecture, hardware and software designs, and interface specificationsDesign and model of system architectures and perform trade off analysesApply interdisciplinary, collaborative approaches to plan, design, develop and verify complex system solutionsPerform systems analyses of the existing system architecture in conjunction with new technologies and concepts for improvements to be considered for future architecturesEvaluate and effectively communicate system problems and resolutionsAssess software and hardware changes for any systems level impacts, and work risk mitigation plans for any potential issues to the systemCollaborate with customers and internal multi-disciplinary teams to provide best value to customersPerform requirements maintenance and mapping activities, and maintain situational awareness of system level requirements complianceSupport Basis of Estimate (BOE) development, work proposals, and participate in contract negotiations and statement of work (SOW) revisions

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.

This position requires a US Top Secret Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship as a condition of employment. A current U.S. Top Secret Clearance is required.

Special Programs Access:

Special Programs Access may be required per the customer.  Certain Special Programs require that the candidate have only U.S. Citizenship or no dual citizenship.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science3 or more years of experience working in an engineering environment3 or more years of experience in systems engineering (i.e. system or software requirements, architecture design, system development, and/or system test)

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experienceExperience working on an Agile team using Agile methodologiesExperience with any of the following Boeing enterprise standard or similar Systems Engineering tools: DOORS, Rhapsody, GitLab, JiraExperience mentoring, coaching, guiding, and leading teamsExperience in Product Lifecycle Management (PLM)Experience/recognized job expert with complex systems development and integrationExperience working in Mission Systems engineering

Typical Education/Experience:

Mid-Level (Level 3)

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in

engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g., Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years'

related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g., PhD, Master+3 years'

related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Senior (Level 4)

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in

engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g., Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years'

related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g., PhD+4 years' related work

experience, Master+7 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard

Summary Pay Range: 

Mid-Level $104,550 – 141,450

Senior $128,350 – 173,650
