This position is in support of the FBM D5 Life Extension 2 (D5LE2) Program Design For x (DFx). As the Lead System Engineer you will work with all members of the D5LE2 team, including customers, partners, and suppliers. The opportunity requires travel to the various customer, partner, and supplier locations.
Primary responsibilities include:
• Develop and implement DFx plans and processes for the D5LE2 Program across the entire product life cycle from development through disposal.
• Collaborate with FBM production, assembly, test, and field support organizations to establish robust DFx objectives/goals/requirements.
• Manages the integration of DFx objectives/goals/requirements into the product development activities working closely with the product development teams.
• Partners with product development teams to report out on the DFx activities for the various products under development.
Typically has 14+ years of professional experience.

Basic Qualifications:
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in systems engineering or product design.
• Experience working as a member of a product development team either as a design engineer or manufacturing engineer where a systematic approach to design for manufacturing or test was successfully used or adopted
• Demonstrated experience in Lean Manufacturing concepts
• Demonstrated experience developing successful program and/or product improvements plans (e.g. facilitating and/or implementing results from a structured improvement event)
• DoD, or other government agency, customer experience
• Active DoD Secret security clearance with ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance
Desired Skills:
• Knowledge of LMCO and LM Space structure, programs, and command media is highly desirable.
• Experience leading development activities through major design reviews such as SRR, PDR, and CDR
• FBM customer familiarity is also strongly preferred.
• Familiarity with FBM production, assembly and test.
• Reliability and/or quality engineering experience.
• Demonstrated experience with model-based engineering tools and approaches.
• Demonstrated experience with leading and executing trade studies.
• Demonstrated capability to work with other companies and cross functional teams in a formative environment, as evidenced by excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Demonstrated exceptional interpersonal communication skills and team building skills
• Demonstrated a “can-do”, inclusive attitude and adaptability to a dynamic environment; demonstrated inclusive behavior, remain open to ideas, and listen to ensure mutual understanding; demonstrated ability to share knowledge, best practices, and information freely among all team members and collaboratively develop solutions with team.
• Active Top Secret clearance.

Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off
Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Washington or Washington DC is $118,100 - $226,400. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
