Systems Engineer/Sales Engineer - Massachusetts

Lancope is looking for a highly technical and influential Systems Engineer / Sales Engineer in the Northeast Region who is capable of effectively articulating technology and product positioning to a variety of audiences including C-Level Executives and advanced technical personnel. This role will serve as a field based technical solutions leader who will work closely with sales managers, prospects and partners as a subject-matter to demonstrate the technical and business value of our solutions.

Main Responsibilities

Partner with the Regional Sales Managers and partners to pursue new business opportunities by delivering technical product presentations, architecture design diagrams, product evaluation installations and on-going technical consultation to our prospects and customers. Analyze and understand customer requirements or pain points to translate how Lancope’s solutions can be applied to meet their needs. Keep abreast of competitive landscape and emerging technologies in order to best position Lancope in the marketplace. Develop, present, and/or respond to proposals for specific customer requirements, including request for proposal responses and industry-specific solutions. Provide product feature input to product management to influence future development.

Desired Experience and Skills

6+ years of experience in a sales engineering role at a data network vendor, DPI equipment vendor, security vendor, service provider or network security company. 6+ years of related technical experience, installing, designing, managing, administering and supporting an enterprise network. Proven track record of helping sales account managers close deals with Fortune 1000 customers. Proven ability to provide hands on technical product demonstrations and training. Deep knowledge of TCP/IP, HTTP, Load balancers, proxies and firewalls. Strong understanding of network security including, DDoS, Firewall, IDS, IPS, anti-virus and common exploits. Solid understanding of IP network design/operation. Excellent Presentation, written, and verbal skills. Ability to travel 25-30% of time.
