Modern Technology Solutions Inc. (MTSI) is seeking a Systems Engineer Subject Matter Expert (SME) with Cloud Platform experience to support the Operational Command and Control (C2) Acquisition Delta Systems Engineering, Integration, & Test (SEIT) team, located at USSF Space Systems Command (SSC) in El Segundo, CA. The C2 Acquisition Delta oversees the software and architecture development within the C2 Joint Capability Areas (JCAs). A successful candidate should be a self-starter who possesses initiative, excellent communication skills, the ability to lead and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, and how is a proven problem solver.
Job responsibilities will include, but may not be limited to:
Platform Engineering liaison performing cross-cutting analysis of various software products/applications being developed and delivered to unique customersManaging systems engineering activitiesthroughout the cloud platform development and implementationDevelopingcustomer requirements and architecture risk analysis assessmentsDeveloping software engineering processes and procedures to support cloudinfrastructures and platformsEngagingacross multiplestakeholder, developer teams with the Government and industryIdentifying, capturing and tracking capabilities and requirements relationships and inter-dependencies across the enterprise, and providing recommendations based on analysis and systems engineering best practicesProvidingcloud platform expertise supporting proposed technical baseline changes in areas such as capabilities development document (CDD) and mission impact analysis, inter-pendency impacts, prioritization, and implementation plansSupporting the development and maintenance of integration roadmap artifacts,and capturingenterprise-wide program’s key events and integration/test activities to aid in communications and decision makingFunctioning within an Agile development environment and adhere to industry best practicesSupporting the development of DoDAF viewpoints and modelsSupporting integration activities and discussions that extend beyond the C2 Acquisition Delta (i.e.NRO, MDA, DAFRCO, SpRCO, SpOC Mission Area Teams, etc.)Providing technical expertise and systems integration support to customersPerforming systems engineering and program management functions in support of major reviews, technical evaluations, and requirements verificationQualifications:
Required:
15 years of relevant DoD/IC or relevant industry work experience8 years of systems engineering experienceAt least 2 years of Special Access Programs (SAP) and/or TS/SCI experienceDemonstrated experience with database management tools (DOORS, Access, Jira, Confluence SQL) Familiarity with Platform as a Service (PaaS)Experience with App2Cloud and Kubernetes (K8s)Familiarity with commercial cloud computing platforms: AWS, Azure, and Google CloudExperience in the implementation and management of Cloud Platform solutionsFamiliarity with DevSecOpsContinuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines executing in parallel Good knowledge of cloud architecture, communications, and agile development methodologiesExperience with aspects of systems engineering such as requirements elicitation, analysis, derivation and traceability, functional analysis and allocation, WBS, trade studies, modeling and simulation, metrics, risk management, integration and test, verification and validationExtremely motivated individual who is a self-starter and works well in a fast-paced team environmentStrong interpersonal skills to enable working, interfacing, and interrelating with diverse personnel and dynamic teamsExcellent analytical and organizational skills, specifically attention to detail along with effective time and project management Experience with presenting and communicating technical data to various audiences (government and leadership audience experience preferred) Willingness to mentor colleaguesDesired:
