An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Systems Engineer to join the growing EC&I Verification & Validation team. The EC&I V&V team are responsible for delivering the verification of the next-generation Rolls-Royce nuclear reactor control system.

This role is in the Technical Development department which focuses on testing through all stages of the development lifecycle

Your needs are as unique as you are. Hybrid working is a way in which our people can balance their time between the office, home, or another remote location.  It’s a locally managed and flexed informal discretionary arrangement.  As a minimum we’re all expected to attend the workplace for collaboration and other specific reasons, on average three days per week.

What you will be doing:

You will be responsible for delivering critical test artefacts to verify the system, this includes taking ownership of verification of one or more EC&I products including:

Design, specification, and deployment of custom test rigs.Review of requirements and allocation of methodsDevelopment of test procedures & test scriptsDevelopment and qualification of bespoke software toolsDevelopment of dynamic models and algorithm emulatorsTesting of EC&I Equipment and compilation of verification evidence and reports.Integration with the commissioning teams to deploy equipment onto boats.

Essential:

Degree qualified in one of the following disciplines: Electronic, Electrical, Control, Systems or Software Engineering. (Those with Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering, Physics or other STEM degree will also be considered if relevant experience can be demonstrated.)Systems level Verification and Validation experience.Analytical and logical mind with numeracy and literacy skills.

Beneficial:

A good technical understanding of high integrity electrical/electronic systems.Hardware in the Loop test experience.Coding experience: Python, VBA, MATLAB/Simulink.Good knowledge of the product design lifecycle including design optioneering, problem solving, definition, verification and validation, justification and safety and final acceptance.

To work for the Rolls-Royce Submarines business an individual has to hold a Security Check clearance.  Rolls-Royce will support the application for Security Clearance if you do not currently already have this in place.
