Systems Engineering Consultant/Expert
Job Summary:
Our client in Oakville, ON is looking for a Systems Engineering Consultant/Expert. This is a contract position.
What You Will Do:
Objectives of this role:
Implementing and maintaining new Continuous Integration tools and infrastructure. Understanding the changing needs of developers and translating them into action items. Creating new ways to automate and improve the Continuous Integration process. Testing and examining code written by others.Identifying technical problems and developing updates and fixes.Working with other teams in the organization to ensure adherence to our best practices.Responsibilities:
Setting up, maintaining, and optimizing pipelines (Jenkins/GitHub Actions).Deploy updates and fixes as required to ensure Continuous Integration.Develop solutions to integrate with internal back-end systems as needed.Perform root cause analysis of development and production build and pipeline issues.Develop automation to enhance current processes.Develop new procedures for system troubleshooting and maintenance.Basics:
Experience with embedded systems build and development process. 7+ years of experience as a DevOps engineer or a similar software engineering role.Detail Oriented o Must have high attention to Detail.Hybrid position. Independent thinking and problem solving.Be able to work independently.Proactively seek out problems and find solutions.A strong foundation in System Engineering and Administration. Linux.Windows.Experience with one or more of the following scripting languages.Bash.PowerShell.Python.Experience with one or more of the following Version Control/Repository Management tools. Git.GitHub.GitLab.Experience with one of the following CICD tools. Jenkins.GitLab CI/CD.GitHub Actions.Circle-CI.Experience with one or more of the following Observability tools. Prometheus.Graphana.Datadog.CloudWatch.Lens.Experience with one or more of the following log management tools.Elastic Stack.Grafana Loki.FluentD.Experience with one or more of the following Configuration Management tools.
