Job Description

REPORTING TO/DEPARTMENT: 

Reports to the Manager, DfX within the Systems Engineering department

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Implement, execute, and document reliability and/or environmental tests as neededAnalyze and/or trend system and/or key component performance to targets; identify and communicate greatest opportunities for improvementAssist in the formal capture of data and resultsSupport new technology and/or product development projects and systems engineering initiatives as needed

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:Students must have a desire to learn and improve engineering skillsThe ability to work on complex hardware and software systems and products in a collaborative team environment is essentialProficiency with computers, including standard office software is expectedOpen to all Engineering majors and Computer Science/EngineeringFamiliarity and comfort with quantitative data analysisExcellent verbal and written communication skillsExcellent organizational skillsExcellent problem solving/troubleshooting skillsAbility to regularly work on-site at the Madison Accuray campus

WORKING CONDITIONS:Indoor Environment: The position takes place indoors, providing a comfortable and climate-controlled workspaceSedentary Work: This role involves extended periods of sitting and working at a desk, requiring good ergonomic practicesComputer Usage: Proficiency with computers, including software applications and communication tools, is essential for tasks and collaborationMinimal Physical Strain: While physical demands are generally low, occasional light lifting and moving of objects might be requiredStructured Schedule: This position usually follows regular business hours, promoting a consistent and predictable work routine
