We boldly go. **Job Summary:** This Systems Engineering Leader will pioneer development and adoption of Model Based Systems Engineering for the Residential Business. They will assess interactions between platforms to drive optimized product solutions and increase use of Modular Product Architecture to drive economies of scale. Location: Tyler, Texas **What you will do:** + Pioneer development and adoption of Model Based Systems Engineering processes + Lead effort to develop the MBSE ecosystem and methodology + Champion the adoption of MBSE across the Residential business while partnering with the other SBUs to drive adoption across the Trane Technologies Enterprise + Drive clear stakeholder needs and system requirements by partnering with Product Management and Platform Engineering teams + Drive creation and usage of system architecture modeling + Assist in creating the strategic vision of how MBSE will tie into Model Based Enterprise + Partner with Product Growth Teams to maintain competitive positioning data for major platforms + Leverage VOC data to create fact-based approach to stakeholder needs and requirement development + Partner with regulatory and sustainability activities + Work with the Chief Engineer’s Office to incorporate Systems Engineering Standard Work into Internal Design Review 1 & 2 requirements + Develop best practices & standard work for total system simulation excellence + Develop Standard Work process and checklists for key system interaction criteria + Develop Total System Cost Requirements; Work across PGTs to optimize overall system design to maintain relative cost competitiveness vs competitive landscape + Provide visibility to platform, subsystem and component change opportunities (as appropriate) + Maintain visibility to the regulatory environment, industry trends and changing market conditions then communicate to Engineering teams + Manage, direct, and develop 3 - 6 engineers **What you will bring:** + Bachelor's Degree in Engineering with a minimum of 5 years engineering experience + 3 years of experience leveraging model-based systems engineering + 2 years of leadership (direct reporting relationship is preferred) + Design engineering experience (Highly Preferred) + Demonstrated exceptional interpersonal skills, team management, and effective communication + Ability to think strategically and to drive collaborative working relationships + Experience working across multiple functions, regions and with multiple stakeholders to drive change + Coaching and mentoring within engineering as well as other functions to build a strong team + Strong business acumen to focus on overall business objectives + Ability to present to upper management + Ability to travel up to 10% **Compensation:** Base Pay Range: $ 120,000-160,000 Total compensation for this role will include a commission/incentive plan.
