Job Title:         Systems Engineering Manager

An exciting opportunity has arisen within Raytheon UK for a Systems Engineering Manager to join our Assured Positioning, Navigation and Timing (APNT) business, working across a range of programmes and R&D studies, developing additional capacity within the Engineering team as a key enabler to the strategic growth of the business.
The role will be based at Raytheon’s Harlow facility and the successful candidate will report directly to the APNT Senior Programme Engineering Manager.
The successful candidate will have access to professional development opportunities and be part of the growing engineering team in Raytheon UK, delivering technical expertise across a wide range of projects to both military and civil customers worldwide.

This role includes:

Managing the APNT System Engineering team (10 Systems Engineers) across programmesLeading preparation of technical proposals in responses to bidsLeading requirements analysis and management tasks – from capturing customer requirements to developing requirement sets for sub-systems & suppliersLeading systems design and development tasks – working both internally and closely with the existing supply chain and strategic partnerships to develop technical solutionsLeading systems integration, verification and validation tasks – from developing sub-system level test specifications, through to generating compliance matrices to allow sign-off of top level systems for deliveryDefining the systems capabilities aspects of the APNT technology and product roadmaps

Candidate Requirements:

Essential

Degree in an engineering (or related) subjectExperience in managing a systems engineering team across the product development lifecycleExperience in leading engineering teams in programmes and in technical proposals preparationsExperience in developing systems engineering capabilities across programmesExperience in line management of functional teamsExcellent communicator, both written and verballyOutstanding analytical and problem solving skillsWillingness to travel throughout UK, Europe and the USMust be eligible for MOD security clearance - SC level min

Desirable

Radar domain knowledge and/or experienceExperience in modelling and simulationKnowledge of the certification process as part of the overall system lifecycle
