Systems Engineering Team Lead

The Systems Engineering Team Lead will coordinate and manage a group of Systems Engineers assigned to pre-sales activities. Oversees the department responsible for supporting the sales team in providing technical knowledge to clients, evaluating the client’s existing systems and needs to make recommendations on products or services.

Specific SE Team Lead Job Duties:

Coordinate and assign activities of Related SE Team. Recruit, hire and retain key engineers within assigned geography, so the sales processes can continue Maintain a great working atmosphere that allows personal and professional development to each one of the team members Define and execute a 30/60/90 days process to employees that perform below the required standard and if needed, let him go of the organization. Manage, in alignment to Fortinet’s defined policies, the business operation authorizations of his SE Team. First point of contact and coordinate SE Team of the MAM Organization. Escalate post-sales tickets to the TAC organization. Escalate requests to Cross Functional Teams Analyze, review and escalate requests to HQ Subject Matter Experts of Advanced Technologies, Project Managers, etc. Be the point of escalation for pre and post sales SE activities to the SE Director Oversee his SE Team development, included, but not limited to execute, authorize, coordinate: performance reviews, team feedback, hard, soft skills coaching, local and abroad training and technology enablement of Fortinet-related products, sales, pre-sales skills, etc.  Define the MAM SE Team strategy definition. Perform technical, pre-sales and post-sales overview and follow-up meetings with relevant partners and distributors of the region. Work with the Marketing team to plan, set and execute the activities needed to fulfill the needs and actions required to have a successful MAM SE team operation and development strategy.  Properly follow-up to the needs of his team. Send needed reports around project status of their team to his SE Manager.

 

General Job Duties

Give proper follow-up to VIP projects and promptly report any advances or potential issues. Align strategies to properly introduce to the market new products and ensure sales success from the engineering perspective. Establish, document and enforce processes that allow higher efficiency and productivity of the presales team. Be a spokesperson, appropriately representing the company at public conferences, media and partner/Fortinet driven events. Work with Corporate and Field Marketing teams, to help understand specific market needs to drive the appropriate activities that can impact positively market’s perception towards Fortinet. Collaboratively work with peers within Latin America, to work on initiatives specific to the LATAM Market. Develop relationships with customers, partners and corporate organizations to enhance sales processes and drive customer satisfaction. Continuous self-development regarding fast-paced and changing technology to ensure state-of-the-art readiness, both for him/herself and his/her team.

 Required Skills:

8 years experience in technical/pre-sales support as a sales or systems engineering manager Ability to think creatively to develop new solutions to old problems. Ability to align engineering processes to sales processes. Ability to create a vision, establish a plan, and ensure plan execution through success Ability to coach others Strong analytical skills Bilingual: Strong oral and written communication skills, both in Spanish and English. Deep technical knowledge on computer networks and Internet security At least 3 years of experience working on a pre-sales position (carrying a quota) for a networking or security vendor. Exceptional presenter. Strong ability to present to audiences of all sizes, either at technical level or management level (up to C-level). Highly organized. Capable of working and multi-tasking across multiple projects.

Education:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in network security industry, MBA or MSc preferred.
