Systems Installer I
This position is responsible for assisting in the operation of the department. An individual in this position will be expected to perform additional job-related responsibilities and duties throughout the facility as assigned and or as necessary. Employees at this designation perform skilled installation, repair and troubleshooting work involved with electrical systems. Electrical work may be performed in building automation work involves technical application of electrical principles. Mechanics will have a minimum of a state issued Apprentice license and working on receiving their Journeyman license. They typically work under the direct supervision of a foreman or lead. This position is considered entry to mid-level and will be based in Ft. Meade/Baltimore MD area. Essential Functions: An individual must be able to successfully perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation. + Operates power tools, hand tools and other specialized electrical installation equipment. + Cut, thread, bend, assemble and install conduits & other types of electrical conductor enclosures and fittings at constant rate at national standards. + Constructs and maintains equipment. + Ability to read blueprints, specifications, manufacture equipment diagrams and BAS shop drawings. + Troubleshoot basic electrical field issues. + Works as part of a team. + Support a performance-based culture, both team and individual, to assure continuous improvement and alignment with enterprise vision, mission and objectives. + Support employee engagement, training, and development in the key areas of electrical safety, employee safety, product quality, and productivity. + Ensure regulatory compliance across a range of federal, state, and local agencies. + Ensure that all quality and safety standards, specifications and policies are met, drive continuous equipment improvements, and collaborate with the project team to drive efficiency. + Support a culture based on open/honest dialogue and involvement with all team members that demonstrates the value of their input and engagement in improving performance. + Support a culture of high performance and accountability in employee and product safety as well as other aspects of the business. + Promote companywide installation policies. + Promotes a safe workplace. Requirements + 1-3 Years relevant work experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities for the job. + Equivalent experience, vocational school, or an Associate degree in electronics, mechanical systems, computer technology, air conditioning or similar field is preferred. + Familiarity with the Automated Logic hardware product line and network architecture is preferred. Prior experience installing Building Automation Systems’ from Johnson Controls, Siemens, Schneider Electric, Honeywell or Niagara is required. + Commitment to “open door” and comfort with construction environment and field employees. + Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal skills; high quality document and report preparation. + Experience working in an entrepreneurial environment requiring strong multi-tasking abilities. + Key leadership competencies in addition to high ethical standards, strong values, integrity, drive to deliver results, pride in personal and team performance, decision quality, building effective teams, and action orientation are fundamental imperatives. + Ability to plan and prepare for tasks assigned to them. + Self-starter attitude that is inquisitive, intuitive and has a willingness to learn and grow. Pay rate $33/hr-$38/hr DOE.
