Systems Integration and Test Engineer

Position Summary
Thales is looking for a Systems Integration and Test Engineer to support Test Engineering and be involved in product design and support activities. Test Engineering activities include designing, building and maintaining product verification fixtures. This includes sub-system items such as power supplies, single board computer assemblies, and RF power amplifiers. Product design activities include design, schematic capture, part library maintenance, board layout, creation of manufacturing release packages, and support of vendors. This role also includes supporting industry and customer service to provide engineering expertise in troubleshooting issues that require engineering involvement. Thales Navigation And non-radar Surveillance (NAS) business segment, part of the Thales Land and Air Systems Global Business Unit, architects solutions used by over two-thirds of all planes worldwide to take off and land safely. Our Ground Navigation portfolio offers a complete range of products, which includes the latest generation of ground-based navigational aids (NAVAIDs) (e.g. ILS, DME, TACAN, VOR) and non-radar surveillance (e.g. ADS-B). With more than 10,000 NAVAIDs and non-radar surveillance installed worldwide in 180 countries, we are world leaders in the NAVAIDs market.
In this position, you will be a key link between product engineering, production, and quality. It is expected that a wide variety of engineering disciplines will be utilized to achieve goals and to break down requirements into a test procedure. The Systems Integration and Test Engineer will report directly to the local Engineering Manager of the Thales NAS business segment.
Key Areas of Responsibility
Design, development and building of Electrical, Mechanical, and Software solutions to verify product performance and qualityDevelopment and documentation of testing proceduresTroubleshooting issues on test systems and productsContinually improving testing process and product qualityPreparing project plans and providing status updatesDeveloping requirements by gathering information from Engineering and ProductionMinimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering, or another technical field with 5 years of experience designing, executing, and documenting verification and validation plans and procedures as well as designing and building test equipment.Familiarity with PCBA/CCA design, fabrication, bring up, and troubleshooting with a mechanical aptitude to specify required mechanical design.Proven experience in programming.Extensive experience with using and interfacing with standard Electrical Engineering lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, power supplies, spectrum analyzers, and network analyzers.Self-motivated in a fast pace environment, critical thinker with strong curiosity to learn, excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills and an ability to communicate well through technical writing. Ability to engage and communicate effectively at all times, while managing self and leading by example.Must be a US Person as defined in applicable law.Special Position Requirements
Schedule: Mon-Thu on 9/80 (9/80A) or Mon-Fri on 5/40 schedule.Physical Environment: Primarily in Salt Lake City, UT office on a hybrid work schedule.Travel: Anticipated to be less than 10% annually.
