Systems Integration Engineer, HVAC and Thermal Systems

This Systems Integration Engineering role emphasizes a deep understanding of vehicle systems, problem-solving abilities, and core engineering knowledge over traditional design or project engineering experience. We are looking for a visionary thinker with a passion for collaboration, eager to take the lead in uncovering solutions, and resourceful in tackling everyday challenges.

The Role:

Derivation of system and vehicle requirements while optimizing for efficiency, cost, weight, manufacturability, and serviceability Support project engineers to ensure timely program deliverables within budget Publish component and system-level test procedures based on vehicle level requirements Support neighbouring attribute & vehicle teams  with data collection & analysis Breaking down complex technical requirements into digestible & understandable concepts Ensure vehicles conform to all motor vehicle safety standards governing HVAC and thermal system operation



Qualifications:

Strong understanding of vehicle systems & interactions between those systems Experience designing and working with manufacturers to create parts and assemblies using high-volume manufacturing processes (injection molding, stamping, die casting, blow molding, etc) in any industry Passion for electric vehicles and energy efficiency Demonstrable motivation and ability to solve novel, difficult design problems with tight timing constraints Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment Ability to efficiently determine appropriate test conditions & collect relevant data from vehicles & rig based environments



Preferred:

Experience with network analysis tools such as Vector, ETAS, IPEmotion etc. Working knowledge of basic electrical principles, motor & solenoid operation, CAN, LIN, Ethernet & other digital Communication Working knowledge of automotive thermal systems including pumps, valves, heat exchangers, cabin air filtration, compressors, HVAC units, sensors, fluid transfer components, and vehicle performance testing Working knowledge of psychrometrics, heat transfer, fluid dynamics, and thermal management



Education:

Master’s degree or bachelor’s degree (plus 2 years related experience) in Vehicle Engineering or related discipline
