Systems Integration Engineer - Electrified Drivetrain

Define and design the overall electric drivetrain systems. Select and specify components such as electric motors, drivetrain, and power electronics, evaluate system performance, efficiency, and reliability. Integrate electric drivetrain components into the vehicle system. Develop and execute testing and validation plans to ensure system performance, efficiency, and reliability. Identify and resolve issues that arise during integration and testing. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical, electronics, mechanical, and controls engineering. This position is highly visible to the RI, CI, and E&T business units, and correspondingly, has high impact on their perception of the Electrification & Energy Solutions (E+ES) division as a partner in product development and safety. **Roles and Responsibilities** + Execute development cycle for Electric power/drive train, power path, circuits and controls, including validation platform built as well as proto built + Responsible for DVP and DFMEA for the designed power/drive train and its components + Optimize system performance, efficiency, and reliability through design, testing, and validation. + Perform engineering and design analysis for new product development using advanced 3D modelling & simulation software + Identify opportunities to reduce system cost through design, material, and process improvements. + Develop and perform on and off vehicle durability and performance tests for product validation + Ensure the current platform success launch, serve as technical supporter for potential design change and failure root cause analysis + Manage suppliers and partners to ensure component quality, reliability, and delivery. + Assist with project planning, scheduling, and budgeting. + Continuous learning: Stay up-to-date with industry trends, technologies, and best practices. + Support electric drive, software and control, system integration, testing, and software integration + Handle changes or upgrades that affect the rest of the system, vehicle safety and performance. **Required Qualification:** + Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical or equivalent engineering stream. + 5+ years of experience in electric vehicle integration. + 3D design and drafting experience (CREO or equivalent), and basic manufacturing processes + In-depth knowledge of electric drivetrain system, retardation and braking engineering principles + Ability to research, learn, perform engineering tasks and make technical data-based decisions with minimal supervision + Good communications and interpersonal skills for working in global cross functional team. + Previous working experience in EV OEMs or EVSE tier 1 suppliers **Desired Qualification:** + M.S in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering or the equivalent in experience with evidence of exceptional ability + Hands-on experience on power electronics development and product launch + Experience in DFMEA and DVP&R for EV powertrain + Solid background in power electronics modeling, simulation techniques, and system analysis + Enthusiastic to explore and develop new technology leveraging publication and journals. **Posting Dates:** March 1, 2025 - March 13, 2025 Caterpillar is an Equal Opportunity Employer (EEO).
