GDIT is seeking a Systems Integration Engineer to provide sustaining engineering and product lifecycle management support for multiple Force Protection System (FPS) Family of Systems (FOS) to the IBD-SS program.
We are looking for a motivated self-starter who wants to join a team dedicated to excellence and continuous process improvement. The successful candidate will join our sustaining engineering team to provide support to the Operations and Logistics team by documenting current systems and configurations and ensuring system updates are tracked and implemented. The successful candidate will review failures and findings in conjunction with our fault analysis analyst to identify any trends and to recommend engineering solutions as well as work hand in hand with testing engineers and technical writers in developing engineering test plans. The ideal candidate will have a commanding knowledge of engineering processes, standards and workflows and will work closely with the Configuration Manager to ensure all system’s product baselines are maintained.
How a Systems Integration Engineer will make an impact:
Primary Roles & Responsibilities include:
Assist in the analysis of failed products to improve sustainment support through viable solutions
Document current system status and configurations and prepare engineering change documentation for government review.
Responsible for enabling day-to-day execution of systems integration and test flow, managing work orders, and the driving discrepancy findings into actionable items and system improvements
Develop Engineering BOMs from Technical Data Packages
Brief Engineering Change Proposals to CCB
Assist in the development of engineering test plans and reports
Collaborate with IBD-SS team members from engineering, training, logistics, and operational support as well as government customers and representatives to facilitate operational improvements and provide reach-back support to perform troubleshooting, maintenance, documentation distribution, sparing, and health reports
Address obsolescence and diminishing manufacturing sources and materiel shortages (DMSMS) in conjunction with the IBD-SS logistics team
Interface with other engineers, subject matter experts, and technicians to solve equipment malfunctions and design flaws
Other duties as assigned
Position may require travel both CONUS and OCONUS as mission requires
Desired Qualifications:
PDM PLM Tool experience
QA/QC experience as it relates to Physical Configuration Audits
Experience with DoD Systems, Engineering requirements and DoD contracts
Superior technical writing skills, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Field Bulletins, Maintenance plan
Experience preparing Engineering Change Proposals (ECP) and Technical Data Packages (TDP)
Experience conducting Level of Repair Analysis (LORA) for commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) products
Previous experience with Rapiscan and FLIR product lines
What you will need to succeed:
BA/BS + 5-8 years relevant experience (12 years’ experience in lieu of a degree)
US Secret security clearance required
