Job Description:

L3Harris Tactical Communications is seeking a highly motivated, team-oriented Systems Engineer. This position will provide independent oversight and direction of qualification testing for system, product, and component level deliverables on the project.   The successful candidate must have the technical knowledge capable of providing understanding of verification and validation including fulfilment of project / program requirements, end-user failure modes, and scenario testing to ensure customer satisfaction. This role interfaces directly with internal and external customers to refine operational scenarios used in the qualification process and partners with matrixed staff from the broader community of subject matter experts. 

Essential Functions:

Lead definition, development, scheduling and execution of verification and validation activities on projects in collaboration with functional test teams to ensure a comprehensive test approach of project / program deliverables.Through evaluation of concepts of operation (CONOPS), use-cases, and end-user assessments, identify potential failure modes for project deliverables and establish validation plans to drive quality.Drive completion of CDRL documentation deliverables such as Requirements Verification Traceability Matricies (RVTM), Test Plans / Procedures, and Results Reports in accordance with government contracts.Collaborate with functional test teams to define requirements allocation, complete requirements-to-test linking, and track test failures throughout the design and development lifecycle.Participate in government test plan development, scheduling and execution.  Through partnership with project team members, execute Test Readiness Review (TRR) and System Verification Review (SVR) in alignment with organizational process documentation. Execute monthly development and execution metrics for I&T projects driving organizational visiblilty to project status and risk.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.

Preferred Additional Skills:

Minimum 4 years of experience leading complex test and requirement verification programs.Experience with system level laboratory and/or over-the-air testing of military communications equipment.Strong written and verbal communications skills.Strong experience with test development methodologies and large system integration activities.Computer Proficiency - Excel, Word, Power Point, Visio, JIRA, DOORS and MS Project.Demonstrated Project Management skills. PMP Certification preferred.Experience interfacing directly with military customers to understand and refine operational requirements.Experience architecting and deploying networked tactical voice and data communication systems.
