Job Title: Systems Specialist
Job Description

• Start up, commission, re-commission customer systems that utilize DDC technology.• Provide solutions to mid-level systems problems, either troubleshooting the system or assisting others on how to resolve problems. Work with subcontractors and other trades to ensure proper operation.• Provide turnkey project delivery on small projects (80 or fewer budgeted hours).• Handle unitary systems (VAV/FPB/FCU), small AHUs, basic CW/HW system, and front end.• Complete all required commissioning documentation, maintain accurate As-Built drawing packages, and mark changes.• Complete paperwork on-time including time sheets, expense reports, posting of work orders, on-site documentation, and project status reports.• Responsible for total system operation from controllers to sensors, loading software, setting up trends, alarms, and reports, and working with customer IT personnel. Calibrate systems requiring basic electronic test equipment, such as multi-meters, network terminals, and/or a laptop computer.• Perform mid-level static (stand-alone) commissioning of software programming.• Conduct site-specific training for owner/operator on the total system.• Set up operator workstations with all associated software.• Perform job database backups on a daily basis or as advised.• Assist with project turnover to the Service Department.• Communicate with customers upon arrival and before leaving the work site. Track and record personal job progress and keep the Project Manager informed on progress. Review customer’s systems and, if needed, point out areas of improvement and scope issues to the project manager. Keep project management apprised of customer concerns and issues.• Maintain a daily log of pertinent job-related activities.• Adhere to safety standards with a high regard for employee and subcontractor safety.• Possess computer and networking skills to maintain laptops and mobile devices properly.• Possess a good understanding of the operation and control of mechanical equipment and their control sequences.

This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 9 Month(s).

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Clifton, New Jersey.

Work Environment

The territory for this position includes both NY & NJ. Candidates will be responsible for driving their vehicles and will be reimbursed for any daily expenses such as tolls and mileage. They will not need to report to Clifton every day and can go straight to the job site from their homes. All contractors are eligible for reimbursement up to 28 miles each way per day (56 miles/day). Parking and tolls will be reimbursed. After transitioning to a full-time employee, candidates will receive a company car, EZ pass, and company credit card. Candidates must be capable of climbing ladders (if necessary) and lifting items up to 50 lbs. We prefer candidates who live locally or in the city, with a commute to NYC not covered as work time. Typical hours are 7 AM to 3:30 PM with no on-call shifts in the install group but with opportunities for overtime.
