The Systems Support Engineer III is primarily responsible for working in a team at the Red River Service Desk and will be reporting to a Team Lead. This position will handle technical support requests directly from customers as well as escalation from other team members and field engineers. This engineer is responsible for maintaining user uptime and improving their computing experiences through effective maintenance, problem identification and resolution activities, as well as growing and developing the organization’s perception with existing customers through exceptional customer service. Candidates must be energetic and focused with a strong motivation to learn new technologies, management, and maintenance processes. This position requires dedication, persistence, effective utilization of provided resources, and the ability to mentor junior engineers.
Essential Duties, Responsibilities, and Knowledge:
Strong knowledge of Azure and Microsoft 365 services and platforms such as Intune, Azure AD, Exchange, Teams, and AutopilotImplementation and support of virtual platforms built on Microsoft's Hyper-V, Nutanix, VMware, or Cloud Services such as AWS/AzureDesign, implementation, support services for Microsoft related technologies: Windows Server, Exchange, SQL, SharePoint, etc. IT support relating to technical issues involving Microsoft's core business applicationsExcellent knowledge with email solutions in the areas of implementation, configuration, and administration Strong knowledge of Microsoft platforms including the administration and management of Windows Server technologies including Domains, Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, and Group Policy Remote access solution implementation and support: Remote Desktop, AVD/Nerdio, and Citrix Strong knowledge of disaster recovery and backup solutions such as Veeam and Azure/AWS System documentation and consulting services to include system reviews and recommendations Provide third-tier escalation support and mentorship to other engineers Excellent knowledge of network storage solutions such as NetApp and Nimble Basic knowledge of network services: WAN and LAN connectivity, routers, firewalls, and security Intermediate to strong knowledge or scripting mechanics and PowerShell Intermediate to strong knowledge of AWS services such as EC2, S3, and Route 53 Work with business applications, vendors, consultants, contractors, and other IT personnel Participate in Engineering On-Call rotationMinimum Experience
Minimum 8 years of IT experience with IT administration and support experience with Windows administration and management of servers, Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, Group Policy, public cloud/private virtualization services such as Azure/AWS Substantial experience with cloud technologies and services, including Microsoft 365Previous Experience in a fast-paced MSP or consulting environment is a plusEducation and Certifications
Bachelor’s degree desired Preferred Certifications: Microsoft MCP, MCSA, VMware (VCP), Azure Administrator Associate, or AWS Associates certifications are preferredAdditionally, an ideal candidate will possess:
