OVERVIEW:
The Department of Administrative and Financial Services (DAFS) Office of Information Technology (MaineIT) provides information technology support to over 13,000 employees.
MaineIT oversees large scale enterprise applications that support the critical and diverse business needs of the State of Maine and its agencies. The group currently has a vacancy for a Systems Team Leader within our Applications Development section.

ABOUT THE JOB:
We are seeking a highly motivated individual to work closely with business partners, vendors, and IT staff to help DAFS maximize the benefits of its systems, satisfy business objectives, and meet their data and reporting obligations.
The Workday HRMS Team Lead will oversee the management and optimization of Workday and other HR-related applications. This role requires deep expertise in Workday, including integration, as well as the ability to lead a team and partner with key stakeholders to ensure seamless HR technology operations and improvements.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?
As a Workday HRMS System Team Lead you will oversee the management and optimization of Workday and other HR-related applications. The role requires expertise in Workday, as well as the ability to lead a team and partner with key stakeholders to ensure seamless HR technology operations and improvements.
The work involves analysis, design, estimating, and budgeting for various systems, as well as supervising personnel and managing vendors. Additional responsibilities include directing projects; developing project timelines and cost estimates; allocating team resources; and ensuring project feasibility, timeliness, and quality. Work is performed under limited supervision.
Your daily tasks will entail:
+ Lead the configuration, administration, and maintenance of the Workday system, ensuring optimal performance and alignment with organization needs.
+ Manage and mentor the Workday HRMS IT team, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment.
+ Provide direction and technical expertise to team members, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of system-related tasks.
+ Collaborate with HR and IT stakeholders to identify opportunities for process optimization and automation.
+ Drive system enhancements and improvements aligned with Department of Administrative and Financial Services strategic objectives.
+ Conduct regular audits of Workday and other HR systems to ensure data integrity, compliance, and security.
+ Driving process efficiency through reporting, analytics, and automation within Workday.
+ Strengthening internal communication and visibility of Workday functionalities across the organization.
+ Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and effective use of HRMS technology.
+ Maintain comprehensive documentation for systems and processes.
+ Support the implementation of new HR systems or modules.
REQUIREMENTS:
To be successful, you must be professional, have a passionate vision to lead and influence outcomes, and have a technical background. The ideal candidate will also possess the attributes and skills listed below:
+ Deep understanding of Workday modules, including Core HCM, Payroll, LCD, Compensation, Benefits, Talent, and integrations (2-3 years)
+ 2+ years of experience in Workday, including system configurations, management and integrations
+ Strong knowledge of Workday security models, reporting tools and interfaces.
+ Prior experience with other HR technologies is a strong advantage.
+ Strong background in process design, project management, and business process optimization.
+ Workday training and certifications are a plus.
+ Proven leadership experience, including team management or project leadership.
+ Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
+ Strong oral and written communication skills, including the ability to write clearly and effectively at a level appropriate to the target audience, which will include business users, senior business managers, project managers, and all levels of IT support and management.
+ Be a highly organized, self-starter capable of using professional judgement, prioritizing responsiveness, and applying analytical thought for problem resolution.
+ Knowledge of all phases of the software development life cycle, as well as the project development cycle.
+ Managed and coordinated small projects that involve multiple stakeholders.
+ Practical experience with test planning, execution, and acceptance criteria.
+ Facilitated meetings and requirements-gathering sessions with business users and managers.
+ Worked closely with various functional areas of an IT organization.
+ Agility and foresight to escalate issues in a professional manner.
+ Provided oversight for workstream lead staff assigned to projects and tasks.
+ Ability to coach and foster an environment of continuous learning with IT staff.
+ Must be able to accomplish tasks in a timely manner with limited supervision.
+ Desire and commitment to a high level of support to the customer, while establishing and maintaining positive relationships.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
+ Seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience in application system analysis and programming including a minimum of one (1) year in a working supervisor role -OR-
+ a Bachelors Degree and 3 years of progressively responsible experience in application system analysis including a minimum of one (1) year in a working supervisor role -OR-
+ a Masters Degree and 1 year of progressively responsible experience in application systems analysis in a working supervisor role.
The selected candidate will be required to pass the required background checks(fingerprinting may be required) as a condition of employment.
