Job Title: Systems Technician  Job Summary: Eastern Industrial Automation is a distributor of power transmission products and components, headquartered in Waltham Massachusetts. Exceptional growth has resulted in the expansion of our Information Technology Department. We are in search of a self-motivated, knowledgeable individual for the position of Systems Technician. The Systems Technician is responsible for managing and maintaining the company’s IT infrastructure, including SQL databases, Prophet 21 ERP system, network administration, help desk support, and PC/laptop setup. This role ensures the smooth operation of IT services and provides technical support to all employees.  Key Responsibilities:  + SQL Database Management:  + Design, implement, and maintain SQL databases.  + Perform regular database backups and recovery.  + Optimize database performance and troubleshoot issues.  + Write and execute SQL queries for data extraction and reporting.  + Prophet 21 ERP System:  + Administer and support the Prophet 21 ERP system.  + Customize and configure the ERP system to meet business needs.  + Provide training and support to users on Prophet 21 functionalities.  + Troubleshoot and resolve ERP-related issues.  + Network Administration:  + Install, configure, and maintain network hardware and software.  + Monitor network performance and ensure network security.  + Troubleshoot network issues and perform regular maintenance.  + Manage VPNs, firewalls, and other network security measures.  + Help Desk Support:  + Provide first-line technical support to employees.  + Respond to and resolve IT support tickets in a timely manner.  + Assist with software installations, configurations, and updates.  + Document support activities and solutions.  + PC and Laptop Setup:  + Set up and configure new PCs and laptops for employees.  + Install and update operating systems and software applications.  + Ensure all devices are properly connected to the network.  + Perform regular maintenance and updates on all devices.  Qualifications:  + Experience in Information Technology, or a related field.  + Proven experience in SQL database management and Prophet 21 ERP system a plus.  + Experience with Power BI a plus  + Knowledge of network administration and security.  + Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.  + Ability to work independently and as part of a team.  Work Environment:  + Office setting with occasional remote work options.  + May require on-call support for critical issues.  Benefits:  + Competitive salary and benefits package.  + Opportunities for professional development and growth.  + Supportive and collaborative work environment.  Eastern Industrial Automation is an equal opportunity employer and offers a competitive salary, benefit packages including 401K, Health, Dental, Vacation, and Paid Holidays.
